Do you hear or see ANY sound or movement as if the camera is trying to bring in the lens? Is there any dirt or debris that could be obstructing the lens mechanism? Did you try to apply light pressure onto the lens as it is in the process to store the lens?

Sometimes, when the batteries die in the camera, it kills the internal computer. It happened to one of my cameras as well. The cost to have the new computer on mine, installed, was about $230.00. I took mine to the local professional computer repair shop and it was returned to me in less than 24 hours and working great. Your price will vary the make, model of camera. Mine was a Canon 5D mk2. Take it there and let them give you the diagnosis and then decide if it's worth it to repair or replace it. Don't use my fee as your guide, unless you have the same camera.
Hope this helps. Mike

Camera is on but lens doesnt do anything and cannot see anything

It sound like a technical problem in your camera. You may chose to fix only if it will cost you lest than $100.00 if it is more, you may be better buying a new one.

This can sometimes be fixed if you remove the batteries over night and allow the camera to sit and discharge it should correct this problem. hope this helps.

Polaroid i834 wont turn on

Same problem; however, after taking a hard look at the camera I noticed that the lens was tweaked; that is, is was not evenly extended so I pulled (by hand) on the inner, extended lens piece and viola; I turned it on, the lens retracted and extended upon application of power as usual.

My guess is the 3 beeps is much like a BIOS error with a PC...when there is a hardware problem they beep on startup...in this case, the camera was letting me know the lens was stuck.
