It pulls paper in about an inch or so and says there is a misfeed. We have had someone come out three times and cleaned everything and changed the clutch and a pully-inny bearing thing, but it messed up again today. It doesn't always do it, but it messes up regularly.

Did they replace the rollers and seperation pad/roller? They replaced the Clutch but not the rollers odd. Also might ask about having the feeder firmware checked updated. or the control board replaced.

open right door and look on top there should be a littl lever there check carefully to see if there is a paper crumbled inside.
remove tray and look where paper feeds out.

In the old days you would have to change the paper in the tray too...
I've been looking online for the glass, and can't locate it. They will charge you a bundle for a piece of glass anyway (I know Konica charges about $50 one).
As to the question of a sensor. If there's no wire on it, there's no sensor. Some manufacturers use a "coating" that goes to a ground wire for anti-static, etc. Most likely, yours doesn't require this.
Also, to prolong the life of the new glass (now don't tell ALL of my secrets) use armor-all, car wax, even pledge (the wood stuff) on a rag and buff the glass. Just a dab will do.

It could be comming from the paper feed mechanism above the paper tray. Make sure its installed properly. It could be as simple as cleaning the feed tires.

Dear sir;I suggest you go to simulation mode 30 & 40 to find out which sensor got problem procedure as follow;
1, press "program", "interupt" "clear", "interupt"
2, enter 30, press "start", enter 01, pres start again,then all the sensor light in the paper path are on the abnormal one blinking.
3, repeat same step for 30 sub 02 that's for paper path in the feed section.
4, repeat same step for simulation 40 sub code 01,that's for by-pass paper path sensor.
After you done those procedure you will find out which sensor block out or defect, good luck.

Have you cleaned the narrow glass next to the platen where the originals are scanned across when using the auto feeder?
