Hello jimmytopps,

Unless the unit itself is defective, there's either a problem in the wiring or you have a burned out fuse. Check both the "always on" power lead and the 12V switched leads, usually yellow and red. Use a voltmeter and test each one to ground. The yellow one should read 12V with the ignition either on or off. The red one with ignition on or in accessory. If they don't, check the wiring and fuse. If they do, the unit is defective.

Hope this helps.

Getting error when trying to record cd to flash drive on boom box

There could be a few reasons why you're getting an error when trying to record a CD to a flash drive on your boom box. Some possible causes include:
  • The flash drive may not be formatted correctly or may be full. Make sure the flash drive is formatted as FAT32 and that there is enough free space on the drive to record the CD.
  • The flash drive may not be compatible with the boom box. Some devices may only be compatible with certain types of flash drives or may have limitations on the size of the flash drive.
  • The boom box may be malfunctioning. If none of the above solutions work, it may be a hardware issue and you may need to contact the manufacturer for further assistance.
Additionally, you can try the following:
  • Check the connections between the boom box, CD player, and flash drive. Make sure they are all securely plugged in.
  • Try using a different flash drive, to rule out the possibility of a malfunctioning flash drive.
  • Make sure that the CD is not damaged, dirty or scratched before recording.
  • Check the manual of the boom box and check if it has a specific way to record from the CD to the flash drive.
If the issue persists after trying these steps, it may be best to contact the manufacturer of the boom box for further assistance. They may be able to provide specific troubleshooting steps or may need to repair or replace the device.

I have 2 boom boxes where cd's spin but no sound.

Its probably a lens failure, its quite common, try cleaning the lens,

if all else fails, try turning the unit upside down and load the disc, sometime this for some reason - resets the lens if slighty out but its not fact, just something i heard

My MTX JH600 works intermittently. I don't hear the fans coming on at all and the amp doesn't seem to get hot. Even at low power the amp will turn off all of a sudden and then boom back on after...

One of my friends had a amp like that , i looked at it an the inside of speaker box wires was touching , if thats not it then check ur power an ground , power wire must be the same size ground an if ur ground is not grounded good then u will get the cuting out .

No sound on a Sharp 37" Aquos TV

Try the main resets in the back by the a/v in and out jacks. If this does not work, call Sharp Customer Service and tell them that you already did the resets. There is a known problem with a heat dissipation pad and they will send a repair tech to replace the pad for free, even if you are out of warranty.

Need to find a satellite receiver for my JVC-200 boom box

I have a JVC boom box and I use a Sirius Sratus radio on mine through the line input of the boom box. Probably sounds better than the Sirius boom box that plugs into it.

Boom box

There is probably a loose connection inside the case, either to the switch or the power supply. Whats happening is you bang it just right and the vibration causes the wire to touch a contact. Then when it heats up a little from use it seperates again and turns off. A screwdriver and some solder will probably fix it, if you can find the loose wire (and where it goes!!!)
