Is it possible to change the order of the tracks?

When listening to music, you can hit 'M' to access the menu. Whilst in the menu, go down to Repeat. The sub-folder has several different options, among them being Random All on the second page. Though the order it plays songs in does not often differ (i.e. When you click random, it will always play Track 4, then 9, then 2, and so on and will do this again the next time you go into your music selection), it can be useful for when you have prior sub-folders to trade off between.

If you have already tried this, you can also plug your player into your desktop computer and move the songs off of the player via the folders available there. When you re-upload files, they tend to be in alphabetical order, so you can also rename them (i.e. from "Charlie on the M.T.A." to "01 Charlie on the M.T.A." and so on and so forth) to get them in a playlist-style format. If you have more than thirty files in a folder on the device, things tend to become out-of-sequence anyway, so that can add a pleasingly random element to your music.

Does the Eclipse Fit Clip Plus have resume play functions?

I have just discovered that if you pause the player and then let it shut off on its own then press pause again later to wake up the unit and again it will pick up where you were. Now, I don't know if it uses any battery life when it's sleeping so will just have to experiment there. But the key here seems to be NOT actually turning it off. Turning it off will reset it to song #1 every single time. Which is really obnoxious.

How to set up an eclipse fit clip plus mp3 8GB and how to download music without using iTunes?

To use it without iTunes, you can just go to any free music download site and download and save music. Then go to your files and drag all of the music you want on your player into teh player, adn into the MUSIC folder. Then eject the player. It should be able to play the mucic. For the free download site I reccomend www.mp3juices.com but that's just me. Hope this works for your music problem!

How do i download music onto my eclipse?

Hello.
Welcome To Fixya Community

There you go :
  1. Connect the MP3 player to a working USB port.
  2. When the unit is connected to your computer, it will create a gray and green icon in the system tray (lower right hand corner of your desktop). The icon will be called safely remove hardware.
  3. Go to the “My Computer” section of your computer. In there you will find a section called “devices
    with removable storage”

4. Locate the drive created by the unit, generally just called Removable Disk, with a letter in Parenthesis. Drive letters vary depending on your system configuration.

5. Open the drive by either double left clicking on the drive itself, or by right clicking to open the option menu then left click on the desired drive.
6. Locate the music stored on your computer. Generally this is stored in the “My Music” folder of your computer.

NOTE: if you are unable to locate the music on your computer, click on start, search, files and folders, then search for “*.MP3, *.WMA”.

7. Once you have located the song files, you can right click on the song itself, and select “copy”.Open the removable disk drive, right click on in the empty space, and select Paste. This will transfer the song on to your MP3 player.
8. Repeat step 7 for as many songs as you want to copy on to the unit.

Will turn on but message appears saying "Not enough space for music DB. Please free 30mb." then shuts down.

I had the same problem two days ago.

Working on the assumption that the problem was a corrupted file, here's how I fixed it. As you'll see, I connected my Clip an Macintosh computer to fix it, but there is probably an analogous procedure using a PC. But I'm not very PC savvy, so someone else will have to figure that out.
Also, I don't know that all the following steps are needed, for example, trashing the old content folders and creating new ones, but this is what I did, and success resulted:

Connect Clip to Mac

Click on Clip's icon to open it.

Open up all content folders and drag songs, audiobooks, podcasts, etc. to trash and empty trash. (The idea is to get rid of the corrupt file, wherever it is.)

Drag all Clip system files to a new folder on the Mac desktop to copy them. This will include DID.bin, RES_INFO.SYS, SYS_CONF.SYS, version.sdk and WMPInfo.xml (Basically, I copied everything that wasn't a content folder.)

Don't bother copying content folders AUDIBLE, AUDIOBOOKS, MUSIC, PODCASTS and RECORD. (Later, you'll create new folders to replace these, to ensure that no corrupted file is reloaded to the Clip.)

Go to the Mac's Utilities folder. Launch "Disk Utility." Select Disk Utility's "erase" function. On the left, where disks are listed, select the Clip. Click on the "Volume Format" dialog box and choose "MS-DOS filing system." (Don't bother with any of the erase options, such as replacing all data with zeroes. Just do the basic erase.) Erase the Clip.

When erase is completed, drag copies of Clip's system files from Mac desktop back onto Clip icon.

Use "new folder" function to create new AUDIBLE, AUDIOBOOKS, MUSIC, PODCASTS and RECORD folders on the Clip.

Eject Clip from Mac and note whether the screen shows the Clip "refreshing" normally. If it does, you're in business.
