If this is the RCM10CR model with electric hob and oven than it has a maximum rating of 13.8Kw (Page 6 of the manual, a pdf of which can be found here: http://www.leisurecp.co.uk/upl/31115-RCM10CR.pdf )
I assume the display for the clock/timer is now blank. If the oven is still working the only thing you are missing is the clock. If you can't do without it you will need a new clock. Most of the time the clock/timer stops working it affects the operation of the oven, the oven won't work. If this is the case you will need a new timer unless you can do without the clock/timer. If so a repairman should be able to bypass the clock with ease so that the oven will operate without the clock/timer.
the ovens work through the clock auto contacts if the clock not working then the ovens wont. may need a new clock or you can bypass the timer relay contacts if your clever. one of the oven elements may have blown to earth this is the main reason for a clock failing
Hello,
Have you checked that the timer clock is set and not flashing, because the rest of the cooker will work after power outage but for the main/fan oven to work the clock needs resetting.
If the clock is not working, then that is the reason the main oven and fan are not working, as they go through the clock timer..
You need to get the clock working for the oven to work.
My Smeg oven will not work either. All I get is an "A" on the display, the clock has disappeared and as a result the oven won't come on. I see from other postings here I can bypass the clock so that the oven works again - can anyone advise how I do this?
assume a fan oven.does fan turn and oven light come on? if so problem is the circular element.
if no fan and no oven light, then clock probably needs setting - this will be in instruction book. clocks sometimes go wrong but not often. if clock is faulty, a cheap repair is to bypass the clock so auto function no longer works
