What is the brand of your diesel generators? Different brand and types of diesel generators, the solutions of faults will be different.

Possible solution. Check the following 3 items: 1.Gas (or diesel) filter dirty and needs replacement. 2. Fuel pump worn and not delivering correct pressure. 3. Dirty gas tank- blocked pipe at exit of tank.

DVD/VCR Combo was working fine then one day machine started
shutting down after a few seconds of operation. It happens with both, a
VCR and a DVD. I can watch 6 secs. of a movie at a time.
Check for a low lube oil sensor problem first. Could be low oil pressure or a failed sensor. The sensor is timed and if pressure doesn't come up, then unit is shutdown.
Check fuel filter and also air leaks in the fuel supply lines.
Check if the fuel shutoff solenoid is responsible for the shutdown. If it closes just before the engine quits, then it is being commanded to shutdown, probably as a safety interlock.
I owned one diesel engine. I would say the engine siphoned the diesel after it was shut off.
The throttle controls may not be closed. The injectors were tested for their opening and spraying, but were they tested for closing and sealing when off? Diesel fuel lines maintain a vacuum or they get air bubbles. Cooling cylinders create a draw right into the crankcase. Last idea-crankcase vent clogged
