Also, make sure its not on a gfci circuit. Even if a gfci is after the TV, like outside on a deck, a power surge may have damaged it. But that would most likely mean nothing in the circuit would work.
Have someone if able open the set and look first at the main fuse the sets power cord goes to, while looking also look for any puffed up caps on the power board itself

U just may of blown fuses on the power supply of the television if you are sure it was a surge. If u can open the unit check all fuses on the power supply for open coniditions. If the future is a good Ideal to use a surge proctector as this will protect your equipment. Make sure power is off and remove AC power to check fuses. Sometimes just removing AC power for a least 2mins will reset the unit.
My ilo Does This Every time We Have A Power Outage Did You Reset It????? Unplug The Tv And Hold Down The On Off Power Button For 30 Seconds Then Release And Plug It Back In And Check.
