and you bricked it so only they can help, LG.com

unbricking anything can be hard, or very very tedious.

Follow these instructions.
- Remove your battery and put it on the phone again
- Hold the volume down button and connect your phone to the PC without holding the power button (the screen will get kinda red)
- Open KDZ and flash stock ROM

You might want to eye the general menu in the phone, just in case somewhere in that menu is a reset option. Since such a search is a bit of a headache, I suggest you download the user manual, then use a search function within the document to locate "reset."

You will lose your data on the phone. Better have the contacts, messages, etc. backed up. Some apps have within their own menus the option to export data. You would need to do that also off the phone's memory to a sd card or computer. Once it is reset, it is gone. You might even backup a list of your apps, if your phone still allows that.

Here is the reset process for another LG mode, the LGMS323. The process is likely the same.:

1. In status of power off,
press power button + volume down button and hold
2. When you can see LG logo, release power button only (hold volume down button
3. And press power button again in 3 sec and hold (hold volume down button).
4. Select 'Yes'.
5. Select 'Yes'.
6. Reset processing..>
Reboot.

If the reset does not fix the problem, I have see advice to try restoring it to full stock via lgflashtool and kdz.

Did you root the phone and try removing some apps (one cause of problem)

which ever way you need to flash a stock rom to make it work once again.................you can learn all there is about that from the link below.
Please do read about three (3x) before starting anything to be sure.

it sounds like a hardware issue if it started heating up a lot. i haven't heard any fail or successful root causing that. i recommend searching on how to obtain your OEM rom and find the company's program they use to flash their stock rom. it was a hard process for me on my LG LUCID years ago. had to find kdv files or convert them to that. im hoping the process wont be the same for you. you will probably have to look up what buttons to push to boot up into update or rescue mode. sorry i dont have the specific solution.

Official Rooting Process LG Lucid Fixed:
Let me just first start off by thanking all of the developers for all of there hard work in writing all the these programs that make it so easy for all of us to work on, fix and modify all of our phones and devices.
I did not write any of these procedures, or programs, i will just expand on what others have already done here. If at all possible donate to those who do all the work.
You will need a set of programs downloaded on your pc to flash your device to the next to last final update. I believe the the final update is: ics 4.0.4 or VS840ZV8_05.S8_05.P58016.R5
What you need is: VS840ZV7_07.S7_07.P58015.R5.01.cab converted to:
VS840ZV7_07.S7_07.P58015.R5.01.kdz
For whatever reason the latest final update for ics 4.04 for LG Lucid, has a locked bootloader, will not root, it frezzes and fails every time, at least i couldnt get it and this is how i did it.
How to force phone into download mode: Pull battery Put battery back in/ Volume up+down at the same time plug usb cable into phone port to pc, wait for it to virbrate a couple of seconds, and boom your in.
Note: recovery mode is not the same as download mode, keep that in mind when flashing the os. Flashing custom roms, nandroid recovery, and nandroid backups you will need to be in recovery mode.
Also make sure your pc is reading you phone before hitting the upgrade button or flashing will fail.
In order to get the cab file for the Original LG Firmware you will need you will have to obtain the Original LG Firmware.exe program from xda developers.
Instructions to convert the cab to a KDZ and flashing it: AKA UNBRICK
1.Make sure drivers are installed
2.Connect your phone to the computer in "Download Mode"
3.Open and extract KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.zip to a folder
4.Install msxml.msi
5.Disable antivirus software
6.Open UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe
7.Wait for the program to open
8.Look for "Encrypt cab file to kdz file"
9.Click the folder icon
10.Choose the location of the cab you downloaded for VS840 firmware
11.Encrypt cab -> kdz Program will freeze up. DO NOT EXIT until program says Done!!! Otherwise it won't finish converting.
12.Close program
13.Open KDZ_FW_UPD.exe
14."Type" choose CDMA
15.Choose in "Phonemode": Emergency
16.Click the folder icon and choose the kdz file that UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe just made.
17.Click Launch software update and enjoy!
18. Once you have completed this procedure you can go on to rooting your phone using Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v15_(2).7z exe If you do not plan on rooting you can skip the rest of this turtorial and update using the ota ( over the air) method or you can use the KDZ_FW_UPD.exe and convert the latest firmware update to kdz and re- flash your phone to the latest upgrade. Or you can use the LG Program B2CAppSetup.exe Have fun either way.
19. Once the terminal comes up click on #1 for normal mode and follow the instructions. Dont worry about the code it asks you to put in, just click restore phone when it asks you to and wait for it to reboot.
Note: I will not be posting any links or mirrors. you will have to find them on your own. It is very easy to find all of the usb divers for the device and all of the software you need on xda developers web site. Or just google it.
My advise to you is to get all of the rooting files from xda, because there is a Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v15_(2).7z exe from google that is a downloadable program that simply put is a virus, the program you need is a noninstalable standalone program that opens a terminal. Just be careful where you get your stuff from.
