If the power supply is a Bestec ATX-250-12e then most likely the power supply has killed the motherboard. You will have to replace both the power supply and motherboard.

My computer won't boot up and the orange light just stays on. The moniter is working, the fans in the power supply is working

Could be your motherboard. Does anything come up on the screen at all when you boot up? Do you hear a beep at startup? Also check to make sure your hard drive is spinning just to be sure.

E-machines won't start
is there an orange light on the on/off button? if there is that means *********** board just went bad, check the capacitors. Capacitors are an inexpensive little component on a PC motherboard, but they can be a costly headache for manufacturers when a whole bunch of them go bad
you can not always detect them but check and see common in a few dell models but the high speed on the fan tells me that's what it is

Hi,

There could be many things that could stop the board from turning on, Determining if it works is like detective work. What I do, is take everything off the board to start. Then add the minimum to start a board to see if it will start. That's one drive (cd or otherwise) the CPU, and one bank of memory. (that's not a required eliminate, but it helps avoid beep codes) Also, make sure you have your pin's set on the board absolutely correct, or that could be your problem to begin with. Now, you should get the power supply on, and the cpu. If those don't power up, it's then either one of the five elements. The CPU, Power supply, Ram, Drive, or the motherboard. The next step is to replace each one of the first four to see if you get any change. If no change, then I usually get another board that I can test the first four, and make sure that they work. After that, then I say you have a DOA Board

Good Luck

When i turn my computer on the monitor go out and flashes and the orange light on the front of the computer stays lit and the fans run constant

Check your cables first. Reseat your connection from cpu to monitor. and check power source and cable.

If not reseat or clean the edge connector of your ram module with soft eraser. But first shutdown your unit and unplugged to power outlet.

Hope this helps

Emachine Will not boot

different beeping patterns are codes which indicate what part of the hardware has failed (ram, video card, cpu, ect). the fan failure would not cause beeps, and would not cause the cpu to fail unless already in windows. if you could find out the manufacturer of your motherboard you could check with them about what the paticular pattern of beeps which you are getting mean.
