SOURCE: How tight is the tank/bowl supposed to be a

They only need to be tight enough to sufficiently seal the donut between the tank and the bowl. Some movement is acceptable. It is better to be a little loose than to overtighten them and risk cracking the tank.

SOURCE: how to assemble tank to bowl

  1. Place the Rubber Donut on th bottom side of the tank (this will form a seal from the tank to the bowl)
  2. There are two small holes to either side this is for your two tank bolts. Place a washer on both bolts and place them in the two holes with the head of bolt and washer inside the tank. Place tank on bowl, matching up the holes.
  3. there are two plastic nuts that are beveled on one end, with bevel up toward bolt head thread onto bolt finger tight. Repeat for remaining bolt.
  4. Apply a little pressure to one side of tank and tighten nut finger tight again then repeat for other side. May need to do this a couple of times back and forth. IMPORTANT tight the nuts equally and carefull not to overtighten or you will crack the tank ONLY FINGER TIGHT.
Good Luck and have a Great Day. Please give a 4 THUMBS UP if this free answer was helpful. THNX

SOURCE: please tell me how to get more water in my toilet

The water level in the bowl is determined by the built in trap in the back of the bowl. Water is allowed to enter the toilet and it then "over flows" the p trap in the back when flushed. Once it's flowing, it syphons the water out of the bowl. While the tank is re-filling, a small portion of water should be running down the overflow from the small hose clamped onto the overflow This rinses the inside of the bowl, as well as helps-refill the bowl. Be sure that hose is directed inside the overflow tube. To see what the max water level in the bowl can be, add some water from a cup or glass. Once it's full you can keep adding and it won't get any higher. This will be the max level you can expect.

We bought an elongated smooth sided Jacuzzi toilet and it is leaking clean water from the back toward the wall

Could be a few issue. First check at the back where the tank sits on the bowl, reach underneath or look with a flashlight if you can to see between the tank and the bow, pay attention to the bolts in particular, if you see any water dripping down the bolts or between the tank and the bowl, the tank to bowl gasket ir bowl gasket bolts are leaking, and need to be replaced. Also look inside the bowl when its flushing, no water should be splashing up over the edge of the tank. Also inspect underneath the fill valve that gasket could also be leaking, or the supply line could be leaking.

I am looking for a gasket between the tank and bowl which is leaking. I only have the number stamped on the inside of the tank which is BN30 BN31. Can you tell from this lid number which model toilet...

It looks like you have a Jacuzzi Perfecta.
This model came in two flavors:

  • the 300 MaP flush performance (with an elongated bowl, #BN30959), and
  • the 350 MaP (with a rounded bowl, #BN31959).
Both use the BN30 BN31 tank.

If you have trouble finding a gasket, you might consider using plumbers' putty.
(Sometimes, the old ways are the best...)

My mother has a Jacuzzi Toilet and the only number she can give me is the number stamped on the inside of the Tank as BN30 Bn31. Can you tell from that what the model is. I'm trying to get a gasket...

*********** has a Jacuzzi Perfecta.
This came in two models... one with a round bowl, the other with an elongated bowl.
Both of them use the BN30 BN31 tank.

If you have trouble tracking down a gasket, you might try using plumbers' putty.
Be aware, though, that there have been reports of the back of these tanks cracking. Check the tank to ensure that the leakage is coming from the gasketed surface, and not from a crack.

Good luck!

Jacuzzi sent me new rubber gasket for attaching flapper assembly to tank-(held in place with a large white plastic nut) Does the totally flat side of the rubber washer face the tank or away from the tank?...

The rubber washer goes to the inside of the tank under the flush valve which gets screwed on with the large plastic nut on the bottom side of the tank. Then the foam gasket fits over the plastic nut which goes into the toilet bowl hole for the water to flow into the bowl. Tank needs to be removed from the toilet bowl.

Installing new jacuzzi 1.6 gallon maxima toilet. despite following the instructions, the water is leaking from between where the tank connects to the bowl. Please help.

Yes, it seems the folks who wrote the instructions have never actually done any plumbing.

first place a rubber washer on the bolt, then put it through the hole in the tank. Then place another rubber washer on the bolt, followed by a metal washer and a nut. Tighten the nut, not the bolt.
Using a screwdriver hold the bolt in place, and tighten the nut until snug and the rubber washers are compressed slightly.

Follow this step with all the "tank to bowl" bolts.

Now the bolts are tight to the tank and will not leak water.

Then place the large rubber gasket over the flush valve hole on the bottom of the tank. and set the tank on the bowl with the bolts through the bowls holes.

Place a metal washer on the bolt, and then a nut.

Tighten each nut equally until the tank has no wobble.

Im looking for the seal on a sterling toliet that connects the tank to the bowl. it also cover the three bolts.

you dont have to use the same gasket. you can use a tank to bowl kit that has washers to cover the holes for the bolts.you can get this tank to bowl kit at home depot or any plumbing supply. this will do the same thing that the one piece gasket will do. just make sure that you dont over tighten the bolts. this may damage the tank.this is a simple and easy job to fix.good luck with your project.
