The sound recording is noisy

When recording audio through video or photos with sound, the sound recorded is very noisy. Its like extreme wind noise. You can still just hear the other sounds recorded, so the mic is still picking up sound, but its overpowered by the noise.

I tried blowing down the mic hole on the top of the camera and this didn't work. I then sucked hard over the mic hole, and this seems to have made a lot of difference. There is still a very small amount of noise, but its only very small and hardly noticable.

Fix wind noise in speaker of my garrard 3006 mk 2 vintage record player,?

My question is, do you hear music when you play a record, or is only "wind" coming out of the speakers?
The player was build in 1964 with Germanium transistors. These transistors are known for their noise level. But in those days nobody noticed this, because all transistor amplifies had noise.

If there is no sound at all, only noise, it can't be that difficult to repair the amplifier. There must be some schematics around on the net. Be aware you need a Xtal PU element and it won't be easy to get one of these.
I found an interesting page on the net. It is a pity the schematic is not 100% clear.

I recorded videos at a concert with the new nikon coolpix L810 and the sound on the video is horrible. What is causing the noise in my video? sounds like wind is blowing or a crackling noise

The problem is the microphone on the camera. The mic on the camera is for recording sound in more normal environments. The sound level on a typical concert is much higher than normal, and the mic on the camera just doesn't have what it takes to record sound at those levels.

One possible solution is to record the sound with a dedicated audio recording device, and combine the video and audio in your video editing software.

Where is the microphone?

The microphone is located on the front of the camera, just behind the flash pop-up button. As far as I can tell there's no way to turn it off, but you can easily strip the audio out and replace it using video editing software on a computer.

That's probably the best way to eliminate wind noise as well. Remember that the camera is primarily an image recording device. Leave the sound recording to a device better suited for it, with a microphone shielded by a wind screen. Or record the sound in a studio. But then we're getting into real money, the way "real" filmmakers work.

Static noise when playing back recording, sounds like the wind

This camera has a single Mic - make sure your finger isn't over it though -- try making a recording in a closed room - no wind noise - is there still static ??
Go through settings and see what choices there are -- like outdoor , indoor . close to subject etc.
My CAM had a close up and background button - which was a sensitivity setting - and the background setting picked up EVERY sound from miles around and filled the tape with noise. The close up setting only picked up sound from bout 2 - 3 meters.
Do you also have an external plug for a Mic ? this would also check whether it's the camera mic or recording that is at fault ??

Audio on videos terribly noisy and hissy

Low-res audio and AVI video is probably the best you're going to get. It is a still camera first, after all.

Turning off sound recording on Olympus miu725SW

Unfortunately there is no way to disable the microphone when recording short movie clips. There is no menu setting to allow you to turn the microphone off.

This thing recorded video without audio.

No, sorry. This camera has a small glitch where it occasionally records video without sound, especially if it has been on for a while. In order to fix this, you can simply turn the camera off and on when it is recording without sound.

There is a crackling sound after I record.

The problem was the VIA chipset firewire card. I changed it with a Texas Instruments one. Works perfectly now.
