IPad will not charge even though battery and charge port both replaced.
I have an iPad 3 that has a power problem. It will not charge even though I'm using a good Apple OEM charger and data cable that I know works. I've tried replacing the battery and the charge port with known working replacement parts but that didn't help. However, if I install a charged battery, the iPad turns on and works just fine until the battery is drained. It simply will not charge. There is no liquid or any other visible damage to the iPad. What could be causing this problem?

Apple support suggests several possibilities. The iPad may not be receiving sufficient power to charge it; some lower powered charging devices are lacking. The charger may not be Apple certified (as being adequate). Test an alternative charger. Or, the port may be dirty or damaged. Remove debris. Try another USB cable. Restart the device. Also, determine whether or not you have the latest ios operating system. If it still does not charge, contact Apple support for service.
If you charge your iPad on a power adapter, the iPad should respond while charging, except if your iPad battery is so low the apps need more power to run.
If you charge your iPad on the USB port of your computer, it is normal you cannot use your apps as the iPad is not only in battery charging mode but also in synchronizing mode with iTunes in the computer. You should lose the habit to charge the iPad on the PC and use a dedicated power adapter instead, as dedicated power adapters charge the iPad battery 2 to 4 times faster than the USB port of most computers.
USB port power: 2.5 Watts in general (5 volt x 0.5 A = 2.5 Watts)
iPhone charger: 5 watts
iPad charger: 10 or 12 watts
Verify that you are connecting iPad to your computer using a USB 2.0 port.
Make sure your iPad software is up to date: With your iPad connected to your computer, click "Check for Update" in the Summary section of iTunes.
Charge your battery: Using the USB power adapter that came with iPad, charge iPad for at least 20 minutes before further troubleshooting. If necessary, refer to "Charging the Battery"
There are a few things to try. 1) Press the power button and the home button (on the front) at the same time. If that doesn't work 2) try plugging it into a different charger than you normally use. If that works, you need a new charger. If it doesn't show that it's charging within 30 seconds, your iPad charging port or battery probably has a problem and will need repaired.
hard reset the device OK, you have noticed the strange behavior of your iPad / iPad 2 or even new iPad 3. It tends to freeze for about a few seconds every minute or is running too slow or something else. This is probably the best time for the hard reset of the tablet. To make things easy follow simple sequence:
Make sure your iPad /iPad 2 / iPad 3 battery is charged above 20% (we would recommend at least 50 - 60 %). If you are not sure charge you tablet for at least 40 minutes.
Make sure your Apple tablet is in Power On state.
Watching the shining screen of iconic tablet with apps' icons on it press and hold down the Wake/Sleep and the Home buttons simultaneously, ignore the red slide "to power off", just keep both buttons holding until the Apple logo appears. This logo is the signal that the hard reset has succeeded. Be patient, some times the hard restart of iPad may take up to 10 - 15 minutes. But such a long restart is a rare case.
Be sure that hard reset retains all data and settings on iPad, it doesn't delete anything. If you want to start over and delete all personal data from iPad you should use iPad Recovery Mode.
USB hubs typically don't generate the 10 watts necessary to charge an iPad when it's connected to your computer.
This basically means you can't use your laptop to recharge your iPad.
Apple recommends
finding an AC outlet and using 10-watt power adapter that came with your iPad.
