Hi Sandra: Sometimes the drivers isn't necessary to connect the digital cameras at pc; one method that I suggest is removing SD Card of the camera and use a
card reader. Allways this is so fast than connecting the camera directly at pc.
Using the Explorer OS (Operative System) this device will appear as a external or removable
drive, then you will can use to copy/paste
pictures from the cardto the new folder in the pc.
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate
your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about
this answer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).
As long as the smartmedia card was not formatted it is possible to recover the images that were accidently erased, lost or corrupted. You can go to the following website link and download an image recovery software program that is free of charge. http://www.z-a-recovery.com/ You want to download a program called Zero Assumption Recovery. It is a very simple program to use and many people have had much success in recovering lost images.
Data recovery is a booming industry, and many appropriate services and software can be found by searching regional phone and business directories or the Internet for terms such as "image recovery" or "data recovery".
you can download the software from some of the available following links ...

if you are using WINDOWS XP then you can transfer photos to PC easily with out any software... you can go to the windows movie maker and try ... your digital camera will be automatically detected in windows XP i think...
Hi,
For some reason the model 530 and drivers are not available on the Vivitar site.
While no drivers, for the moment, you can try a memory card reader since Vivitar uses a memory card to store the images. Memory card readers do not need installers but treated as drives of the PC.
Hope this be some help/idea. Post back how things are or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
