Try this remove power from MX 780 first. Then replace the batteries in the remote with a brand new set of batteries.
Press the power button a the remote a few time while the MX 780 has no power.

You have to open up the remote. The underside of each button has a black disk. Clean each button with a pencil eraser. Then look at the circuit board. I had the same problem. My URC MX-780 remote with fresh batteries just alternately flashed between the logo screens. It turned out that our fresh batteries weren't so fresh. Fortunately I have a multi-meter so was able to see that three of the four batteries were actually much less than full power. So I went through the 24pack of Duracells and discovered that about 75% of them were the same; low power. I found four that were close to full power and the remote was back up and running! I'm now making a claim with Duracell as the package came with a 10yr storage guarantee. The batteries were stamped best before MAR2027.

replace the batteries+retight the spring with plier for better contacts. clean it with alcohol isopropyl. and test again.
If the problem persist use the digital camer or cell with camera, and iluminate the camera the LED will be ON, if do not, open the remote control, clean the keypads for corrosion, and use alcohol isopropyl . and test it again. God bless you
