Colour of subject very pale, when viewed in camera eg red house looks white in picture as viewed in camera

hi,
the cameras aperture could be faulty, the iris and shutter assembly inside the lens must be tested, there may be the flexible flat cable have cracks or totally broke, if you can change it, that is the remedy.

How to switch from color to black and white setting on camera body

I advise you not to do this. If you want your shots in black and white, it is very easy to convert them in an image editing program on a computer. However, if you take the pictures using the black and white setting on the camera, you can never convert them back to the original colour. This also applies to the other effects offered by some cameras- a computer program will give you any effect that the camera can, and more, and do them better, without locking you in. Offering these settings in a camera is just a gimmick.

Can i take black and white pics on my cyber-shot DSC-HX5

Whether your camera has this option built in or not, you can easily make your colour shots into black and white ones (or sepia and other effects) in an image editing program on the computer. This is propaply the way to go, because when you use a camera option to take a B/W picture, there is no going back to colour if you change your mind later.

What kind of batteries does the Spirit 600 Polaroid camera take? Where is the slot for the batteries? Where is the power switch? How do I take pictures with it?

The battery is built into the photo pack. original photo packs are no longer made, and old stock ones are now useless due to flat batteries. The power switch is the shutter button:press the shutter and the camera operates, there are no electronic displays, beeps, or similar functions.

There is a company which has recently started making photo packs again, but you only get 8 shots per pack, not the original 10 shots. Currently only monochrome (black and white) is available and the photos are unstable and prone to fade badly; colour film will soon be available as well. Check out The Impossible Project if you wish to order some.

Do you have the usb cable that came with the camera? If so plug that into your computer and your computer should them recognize it and give you instructions. After your files are saved to your computer add them as an attachment to your email and send.
