If your TV has an optical port on the back, you simply get an optical cable long enough to connect the two. On your TV sound setup screen you'll have to select optical out so the sound from the TV will be switched from the RCA jacks to the optical out port.

SOURCE: olevia lt 27 hv no sound

one way to test the audio on the tv is to connected a cable line or ant.. and see if audio comes out on the speakers of the television.. if they don't then go on the menu under audio and make sure the speakers are not turn off..

If you get audio with the ant or cable channels.. then the television speakers are on.. now you might want to try the sat receiver with different connections an example will be AV cables.. yellow, red and white.. to see if that works ? make sure the red and white are right next to the yellow input or else you wont get audio..

If you will like more help.. you could also contact this company called Amergence Technology they have trained technicians that have knowledge for Olevia products.. there number is 866-965-3842

SOURCE: Ear Phones

No, TV's rarely provide that anymore. They expect you to hook it up to a stereo and plug headphones in there. There are some nice wireless remote headphone systems that are self powered and can plug into the TV's audio out.

SOURCE: how to connect a panasonic

What is the source? if you are using an HDMI connection from an HD source you should have digital audio. also, if you are connecting digital cable directly to the TV it will send digital audio out as well. check the optical cable at the amp end to see if it is working. it should glow red at the tip if it is.
there are digital input mode settings as well on some receivers. if it is set to DTS it won't work on PCM audio. if it is set to auto Digital it should work on any standard. check the PCM or DTS options in both the TV, and receiver if those settings are there.

SOURCE: LG sound bar connected to Pioneer TV by optical cable not working

1. if you have something else that you can test the optical wire on. do that first. dvd player etc... if the test item works, it's the sound bar (or a setting in the sound bar.)

2. check the audio settings on your t.v. make sure it's set to output to optical.

3. replace the wire.

if none of these solve the problem, the t.v.'s optical output may be bad.

K1ha25ha0001 this one is panasonic surround system cable i want it to connect to tv

Where there any other cables? That does not look like a standard connector for TVs. Could that be the cable to connect the surround sound sections together, sound bar to the sub woofer and so on. Most TVs and sound bars will use Scart, Jack, HDMI or Optical leads to connect to each other. Most new systems will have either HDMi, Optical or both.

I would like to find out how to play audio from my panasonic viera tx-40cx400b tv/other devices e.g. xbox one etc through to my Teac A-H300 amplifier.

Having looked at the TV, you will have a lot of problems trying to connect to that amp. The TV has a digital optical out output only. The disc player you mentioned will also be out only. You need a optical "in" for them both. The TV has no analogue out sockets. The only chance you might get any sound out is via the scart socket. If that is fully wired, then the scart might produce L&R analogue out. A scart plug with RCA connections (make certain it has both audio in and out) might produce some sound for the amp.
Otherwise no chance!

The amp you have was not made to work with digital signals. The TV will produce high quality Dolby 5.1 sounds. Assuming you get the scart to produce the sound, then you will only get stereo sound, little better than the TV itself!
I therefore recommend you get a decent digital amp that you connect all your future devices too. One that has HDMI connectors as well as at least two optical inputs.
Onkyo make some excellent models. For example this model would do the job Onkyo TXSR444 Home Cinema Receiver.

Having problems connecting using RCA cables (TV to Sound Bar) - No sound on Sound Bar

I assume by using your phone (cable rca to mini jack) the sounbar functions normal. Next time give more info like tv and soundbar make and model no and what connections are available on both components and if its input or output connections.

On the tv make sure the rca cable (tv to soundbar) is plug into the stereo output of the tv and not in a av input. Some tv's have a mini jack out and not rca. Some have a earphone socket which could also be used.

Some tv's only have a digital or optical output port. Iin basic sound work and can be connected with the following combinations .

Minijack to minijack
Minijack to rca
rca to rca
digital to digital
optical to optical

How do I connect a Panasonic TX-50A300B (TV) to a Panasonic SC-HTB20 Home Audio System?

The audio system sports both a HDMI input AND an Optical input - one can use either. The TV has both of those as outputs so you truly can use either!
You'll need a HDMI to HDMI cable or an Optical to optical TOSlink cable.

If you want to listen your TV on your Stereo system thru your Home Cinema receiver, you need to connect "Audio Output " RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" of your TV to "AUX input " or "Any input" of your receiver ( except Phone ) or "Optic Cable input" than just switch to respective mode corresponding your RCA or Optic connection...
There you go..Your TV sound is on the Receiver..
Take care and pls remember to rate me..If you cant succeed you can contact me for more solution..

How do I connect my Panasonic SC-HTB500 sound bsr to my Panasonic TH-42PX75U television with an HDMI cable?

If you have a set top box (blu-ray, dvd, cable) with HDMI Out, then you need a pair of HDMI cables. Connect one from the HDMI Out of the set top box to the HDMI In of the sound bar. Then connect the HDMI Out of the sound bar to the HDMI In of the TV.

If you only want to use the sound bar as an external speaker system for the TV, then you should get a digital audio cable (fiber optic cable). Connect this to the Digital Audio Out on the TV (below HDMI ports) and to the Digital Audio In of the sound bar.

I hope this helps. You can find the manual of the TV here: http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Televisions/Plasma-TVs/model.TH-42PX75U . The TV also has analog (RCA) audio out jacks labeled Prog Out on the bottom left of the connection panel; the sound bar however doesn't have RCA audio in jacks.

Cindy Wells
(since there are no HDMI out jacks on the TV, there is no other way to connect the sound bar.)

I am attempting to attach a Samsung Sound Bar to my 42 inch LCD 1080P Polaroid Television. I can not seem to get sound from the Television connected to the Sound Bar. Thoughts?

Connect the audio out RCA jacks (white and red) on the TV to the white and red RCA input jacks on the sound bar for analog stereo sound or connect the black digital audio output jack (typically optical) on the TV rear panel to the sound bar's optical digital audio input jack for surround sound. Use an optical cable. There may be some user settings on the TV for audio.

Cannont connect Ear Force X3 with my HDMI set up .

Is the problem that you're using a single HDMI cable to connect your Xbox to your TV? If so, this Turtle Beach article should help... ________________________________________
HDMI and Connecting Ear Force Xbox Headphones
The current Microsoft Xbox 360 series of gaming consoles allow the use of HDMI cables for simpler hookup to home theater systems and Hi-Definition televisions (HDTV).
The Xbox 360 Elite (the black one) comes with two additional cables, an HDMI cable and a separate AUDIO cable that provides a pair of RCA jacks (red and white) and an optical digital audio output (S/PDIF Out). With this cable package, you can easily connect any of our X-series headsets and an HDMI-connected television at the same time.
This Xbox 360 HDMI Cable package is available as an extra-cost option from Microsoft: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360hdmiavcable/
Here's a more in-depth explanation of the Xbox 360 HDMI Cable and how it works: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937899?sd=xbox
[NOTE 1:] The standard Xbox models do not come equipped with this cable set. The HD cable they have obscures the HDMI connector, so that the two sockets cannot be used at the same time. If you only have this stock HD connector (component video, composite video, stereo analog audio and optical digital audio connectors), then you will not be able to use the HDMI connector at the same time.
In order to use both sockets at the same time (HDMI and A/V) you'll need to purchase the Xbox 360 HDMI Cable package described above.
[NOTE 2:] The current Xbox 360 Elite Holiday Edition (Fall 2009) does not come with the HDMI Cable set.
___________________________________________________________________
Some companies make aftermarket HDMI cables for use with the Xbox 360, but these may not provide the dual RCA jacks that carry the 2- channel analog audio necessary for hookup of the anlog-only Ear Force X-series headsets. If this is what you have, you may need to find another way to connect your Ear Force X-series headset.
The TOSLINK digitally-connected X-series headsets can be always be connected using optical digital "Toslink" connections (and that's the best way to use them!).
___________________________________________________________________
The oldest white-and-gray Xbox 360 models DO NOT have an HDMI port. With this particular (obsolete) model, you cannot use HDMI connections, but you can use any of our X-series headsets.
Current Xbox 360 models all have separate HDMI and A/V ports ("sockets") on their back panels.

Here are some suggestions for alternative connection schemes:
XBOX 360 AUDIO PLAYS THROUGH TELEVISION SET:
For X4 and X41: Your best bet would be to connect the Xbox optical digital audio out to the X4 transmitter's optical digital input. Then connect the X4 optical digital output to the optical digital audio input on your HDTV or home theater amplifier.
[NOTE:] Some HDTV systems have an optical digital audio output that will not transmit Dolby Digital/DTS encoded digital audio, only stereo PCM audio will be passed. In this case, you must connect as above.
For X2, X3 and X31: You can use the Headphones jack or the Audio Out jacks on your TV to connect to the Audio In jack on the Transmitter.
For X1 and X11: You can use the Headphones jack or the Audio Out jacks on your TV (if available) to connect to the headset's analog Audio Input.

NOTE: Please make sure your TV has Audio Out jacks. Some TV's only have Audio In jacks.
Audio In jacks only accept incoming audio signal; they do not send audio signal out. If no audio signal is being sent to the headset, no sound will play from the headset.
___________________________________________________________________
You may need to purchase a suitable adapter cable in order to connect the TV audio output(s) to the Ear Force X-series headset's transmitter or Audio Input plug.
- Connect the HDMI cable so that the Xbox 360 plays its audio through the TV.
- For X1, adjust the Dashboard > Settings > System > Voice in the Xbox 360 so that the talkback and game sounds are played together (Play Through Speakers). - For X3, X31, X4 and X41, you should set this to Play Through Headset.
__________________________________________________________________
XBOX 360 AUDIO PLAYS THROUGH HOME THEATER RECEIVER (except X4 and X41): This is exactly the same as the above, except that you will use the receiver's Headphones output jack to connect to the Audio In on the Ear Force Xbox-compatible headset's Transmitter (X2, X3, X31) or the green Audio Input plug (X1).
- You may need to obtain a shielded audio cable with 1/4" stereo phone plug to 1/8" stereo mini-phone plug ends. The 1/4" phone plug goes to the receiver's Headphones jack, while the 1/8" mini-phone plug goes to the Audio In on the Ear Force Transmit- ter (X2, X3, X31) or Audio Input plug (X1).
- Adjust the Dashboard > Personal Settings in the Xbox 360 so that the talkback and game sounds are played together (Play Through Both). For X3 and X31, you may also set this to Play Through Headset.
