How can I choose a line to call out from.

Basically, when handset is picked up the intercom light picks up instead of me being able to choose a line to dial out on. If I try to select a line with the handset on the receiver it will not allow me to choose one. My only option is to pick the receiver up. we are a business with multiple lines. All of our phones work normally with the exception of one

SOURCE: line not assigned

Somewhere, floating around, is a TDA Users manual. Program 19 and 20 deal with Idle line preference out and in. You could have a couple of things going on, one is that you lost your ILP, or the line assigned to it is no longer there. If it's the former, try this:

PROG 19 0 is no line 1 is Idle CO 2 + a button is that line, and 3 is intercom. Press STORE after the sequence and try it.
Worst case is you do 19 3 and get it to the intercom on idle.

For incoming PROG 20 0 is none, 1 is longest ringing, and 2 plus a line is to prefer that line, used when you have a private or semi-private line that you need to answer. Again, press STORE to save your selection.

SOURCE: Can not pick up line on incoming calls from one extension only

That's what happens when you plug in the system and don't program it. You need to review ICD groups.

By default, the phone connected to the first extension is the master phone and the only phone that rings.

SOURCE: I need help programming the phone to pick up CO1

This is a guess because you still didn't tell me what system you're connected to. On an idle phone, try pressing PROGRAM 131 STORE. In a TA-824, that makes you select line 1. If it's busy, nothing happens.

What happens when you dial "9" into the intercom dial tone? Is that the line you wnat to auto select?

A lot depends on the system your phone is connected with. In a TA series on an idle phone, press PROGRAM 11 for no preference (what you have) 12 for Idle line (what you get when you dial 9) or 13 and a number from 1 to however many lines you have to select a specific line.
Those commands are followed by the STORE button and PROGRAM to end the programming.

My company has an Avaya phone system that uses Partner 18d phones. When you pick out the receiver the phone would go to one of our 4 outside lines, but recently on ext. 10 when you pick up the receiver it...

http://dstech1.com/changing-the-line-that-is-picked-up-when-you-lift-handset/

All releases of Partner
Lets say that you currently pick up line 1 to make an outgoing call, but you want to pick up your last line (in this case we will say we have 6 phone lines).
This feature is called "Auto line select"
To program Auto line select:
From extension 10 or 11:
Press feature 00
LEFT INTERCOM
LEFT INTERCOM
RIGHT INTERCOM
Enter the extension number of the extension you need changed.
press ** (start, star)
Then the order you want the lines to get picked up
Then ** (star, star) when done
When finished, press feature 00 to get out of programming.
So, in this example I would enter my extension number (22) and press ** (star, star) and press line 6, line 5, line 4, line 3, line 2, and line 1. Then I press ** (start, star) to signify that I am done programming Auto Line Select. And feature 00 to get out of programming.
Easy as pie.

Hi: I have a Panasonic KX-T7420 phone. When one of the incoming lines is ringing and I pick up the handset, it picks up the intercom and not the incoming line. Is there a way to get the thing to answer...

There are 2 things that would prevent you from being able to answer a ringing phone by picking up the handset. Your phone has to be ringing, and you need to set preferred line ringing on incoming calls.

The second part is easy. Press PROGRAM 99 and dial 22 STORE on your phone. Now when a call rings on your phone you can pick it up. If you can't, then your phone is not ringing.

Ringing is set in system programming.

Panasonic kxt7630 button assignment

I've never heard of the ability to reassign an intercom button as it's a fixed feature, but maybe so. Start by assigning the lower left phone button back to CO1 and let's see what happens. WIthout picking up the handset, press PROG the button and dial 0+01 STORE or ENTER.
Pick up the handset and drop it back in the cradle to exit programming.

Did that work? Making button 1 into CO1 will drop the programming from the intercom button and it should default back to intercom.

Can you tell me how to get out of SP-PHONE which has a red light

Under my Intercom light I have a green light (7731,7735). I'm not sure why yours is red, but here are a couple of things to try.

Press "1" on the keypad without picking up the handset. That turns off Background music and the display will say BGM On or Off.

Press Intercom or pick up the handset and dial 790. That's the extension reset code.

If neither one of these work, post back with the model number of the phone system cabinet the phones are plugged into. It's probably a Panasonic TA-624/824 but there's a chance yours is different.

I want to be able to just pick up the handset and have it

Depending on the software level, there is a possible chance for this to work...

first question though... can you dial a 9 to get a line out?
If this is possible, that means that we can change the PRIME LINE for a line pool access rather than intercom.

-> Get into system programming
-> get into TERMINALS&SETS and type in your extension
-> enter LINE ACCESS and hit next till you find PRIME LINE it should say I/C (this is intercom)
-> press change till you see PoolA
-> hit next and RLS to end programming.

Now everytime that you pick up your handset, it will pick the first available line out!

Misplaced one of the phone

I looked up that model and they are equipped with intercom service.
What good would an intercom function (I ask myself) without some way to ring another handset? It wouldn't make sense to have to holler for someone else to pick a handset ;-)

The phone's control layout is identical to ours (it is 2.4 gHz instead) so check the lower right-hand corner for a button perhaps marked Hold & below it 'Intercom' printed.
Using that function, you choose the station # and it will ring the remote (lost) handset until someone picks it up and presses Talk or speakerphone button. .
