Some HDMI don't carry sound signals and you have to hook up the headphone jack to the TV with a headphone to RCA adapter.Sometimes you can go to control panel on your computer and turn on the HDMI sound but sometimes not.

Simple fix : Click start and type sound and goto "change sound card settings"-> goto HDMI sound (tv icon) and right click it -> select "Set as default" It will work. Just restart the application from which you are trying to play the audio. It will work 1000%

If you have a HDMI connection at both ends you should be getting HDMI audio on your TV from your laptop.

The first thing to do is disconnect ANYthing that is connected via HDMI and then use the component, composite or s-video inputs and see what happens. If it works ok then most likely what ever is connected to your TV via HDMI is causing the issue (it does happen). The second thing if that doesn't solve the issue is replace the lamp if its getting really dar and has never been done before. If the emmisions of the lamp are low (darker picture) the set thinks the lamp is not on and will force a restart..Please take a moment to rate my answer...Thanks

Sound doesn't travel to you tv via a hdmi lead from your laptop, you would need to use laptops speakers, or a connect the laptop to a suitable audio device.

if u have placed your DVD next to your tv ... just maintain distance between then and check out
