It sounds as if the drive belt or wheel that controls the carriage has perished and failed. There is normally a micro switch on the side or rear of the tray, that senses the presents of a casset. If it is closed with stikky tape or clay you may be able to simulate a casset in the machine and with manual force help the casset to open or close. alternatively a small lamp in the centre of the tray senses the tape. then you have to cover the lamp or two sensors on left and right side of the tray, to prevent detection of the broken or missing tape.

I have a tape stuck in vcr ,big problem is, it is a tv with built in vcr and dvd player..any ideas or am I stuck with it?

This can be fixed by removing the screws off the back of the TV and removing the back panel. Be sure to have unit unplugged and to touch nothing else in the system other then what I mention. Doing so could send you on a flight across the room.
After you have the back off you will find something called the carriage this is the thing the tape will be sitting inside. To the left or right of the carriage you will find a really small hotdog shaped gear turning one way will force the tape further in turning it the other way to force the tape back out. be sure to assist any loose tape out so it does not get stuck on anything and jam/break something

Cannot load tape. keeps ejecting tape when trying to load.

Remove the top cover from the VCR. If you have children in the house, look for any object lying in the mechanism. If this is clear, insert a tape slowly into the carriage & watch carefully if the cassette tape flap raises up & allows the tape to be lowered down into the mechanism, if not the flap lever at the side of the carriage may be broken. If the tape does lower into position, look to see if the tape is being pulled out by the guide arms, (normally 2 white poles) one of these may be broken. Check the half loading arm is also not obstructing the tape. If any of these parts are broken a new deck mechanism would be required.

CASSETTE STUCK IN VCR WONT EJECT I TURN VCR ON IT STAYS

turn on the machine. use your figure push on the cassette, when you feel the cassette can't go any farther (don't jam it),and hold it there. press the eject button, you may have to try this couple of times in order for the cassette to come out.
the cassette deck need to have the drive belt change.

VCR repeatedly tries to play and eject when tape deck is empty

the tape carriage is probably stuck, or something stuck inside blocking the tape sensor.
feed a tape in and see if it does it "with" the tape too

hope this helps

VCR TAPE IS STICK IN VCR PLAYER.

if you can't get the tape out enough to pull it very carefully out by hand, you'll have to bring it to a repair shop. the tape is probably twisted up inside and jammed.

Tape stuck in VCR

First locate the load and unload motor, it is the one with the rubber drive band. release the drive band and rotate the gear to raise and pull the carriage back into position.
This should remove your cassette, and put the carriage back into position.
