You'll see 2 small caps in the carburettor cover.
Do that fogging only in very well ventilated area ( outside thus).
Run the engine on idle, open both caps, spray as much fogging oil in both holes ( use 2 cans) till the engine stalls.
Close the caps.

I need to winterize a Mercury 40 HP outboard motor about 5 years old. What are the steps involved in doing this?

Winterizing is fairly easy. You can put the lower unit in a mix of water and antifreeze and run it to get all the water out and replaced with antifreeze. Next you can either spray fogging oil in and add fuel stabilizer to your gas tank.

What needs be done to winterize engine?

Make sure the anti freeze is good to at least your typical lowest temperature. Drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer and run the engine until it dies. Open drain on bottom of float bowl on small engines. Pull the spark plug and spray the cylinder with fogging oil. If it will be stored in a place that rodents or vermin can get to it. Place poison blocks around the area. Nothing worst than getting an engine back into service and having droppings and chewed wires to deal with.

My older Evenrude 30 elo 689 L 418232, How do I winterize motor?

The main concerns are:
1. Draining and/or running all the fuel out
2. Fogging the engine with protective oil (fogging oil is available)
3. Remove the prop. The splice could use some lube and the number 1 cause of oil leaks is fishing line wrapped around the prop shaft. You don't fish? others do.
4. Hang the motor vertical (normal running position) should drain all the water out.

How do you winterize a 1993 Yamaha wave runner 2 stroke, everything we have seen says to just fog the plugs no anti freeze? is this right and if not where do you put the anti freeze in at?

NO ANTIFREEZE!!! simply hook up to the flush fitting and while running start spraying fogging oil thru intake . you want to "load" it up with that stuff and don't rev high for about 3 or 4 min the just disconnect battery and spray motor and pump down with WD-40

What is the easiest way to put fogging into jetski

The best way is take out the spark plugs and spray down the carburetor throats while the engine is turning over. The whole point of fogging oil is to fog the lower crankcase, crankshaft, bearings, and pistons and stop corrosion in the off season.

How to access carburetor for applying fogging oil in 1989 140 hp evinrude outboard?

The fogging oil does not go in the carb. It goes in the cylinders. You have to remove the spark plugs and spray the fogging oil into the cylinders. Turn the motor over a few times with the plugs out , respray and then replace the plugs. You are protecting the cylinder walls by doing this. hope this helps you. Jeepfxr

How do I winterize my Mercury 115hp outboard motor

add Stabil to the gas tank and run the engine for a few minutes so it gets into the carb. Then pull the plugs and spray fogging oil into each cylinder and then turn the engine over a few times. If you are in a cold climate you should drain the lower unit in case there is water in it and then refill it with new lower unit grease. reinstall the plugs and you will be ready for winter.

Need diagram of a force 150hp outboard motor

To winterize a Force outboard you should start the engine and remove the fuel line. Remove the air box and while the engine is running rev up the engine a bit and spray the fogging oil into the throat of each carberator when the engine is about to run out of fuel. keep spraying the fogging oil until you see thick smoke coming from the exhaust area. The exhaust comes out of the center of the prop. When you see the blue smoke then keep spraying and let off the throttle and choke the engine so it dies. Stabilize or get rid of your fuel in the fuel tank and you can let it sit like that for the winter. Leave the outboard in the down position so that any water will drain by gravity out of the prop. When you want to use it next spring just hook up fresh fuel, squeeze the fuel bulb and fire the engine up. It will smoke for a few seconds until that fogging oil burns out of there but it will be ready to run.
