Clean the contacts on the cartidge and printer ( open the replace ink door wait for the printhead to come to center and turn off power) if that does not work then replace cartridge, it might be a recycled one that they did not chane the chip.

SOURCE: printer wont print at all. error message is 50C.

Hi Try These Solutions:

its quite simple really just turn off your printer then unplug it remove both cartridge's get like a wet baby wipe or something similar let them sit on it for @ 10 secs then just real easy wipe the front piece as well take the same wipe and wipe the heads in the printer well sort of dab them dont wipe let dry for @ 10 secs put them back in (note you will need to move your cartridges over to where load position by hand to and back) run a cleaning test then align test , then print a test page and wah lah works on every one i ever had to do . sort of fix the things u know. have fun hope this eases your day or better. merry christmas to all and to all good night in essence what has occured is the cartridge got shorted and has dried at the surface as well. try it any other tips you need well ask but not to many thats why i quit giving tips like 15000 email a week blow your mind apart

or
Well, I did all that but no dice. But then I noticed that the "protective" tape on the new cartridge had left sticky junk on the cartridge -- but NOT on the print heads, just on a regular part. I got rid of the sticky stuff and voila!

1. Replaced Color and Black ink cartidges on my HP D5160: Color cartridge - NEW Black cartridge - REFILL SYMPTOMS> Red flashing exclaimation LED, black ink cartridge appears empty (0 dots in the...

Black printer ink in HP Printer may fail to be recognized by the printer. Most times an error message will be sent indicating that something is wrong with the black print cartridge. Sometimes the printer may accept to print with the black ink, but the printouts may have horizontal lines and very illegible letters. In such a case a manual cleaning of the print head should be carried out. In doing the manual cleaning, one should spray Windex heavily on paper towel and wipe off the surface of the print head.

Epson sx200 printer, wont print black ink only

Many printers especially Photo ones also use colour even when printing Black. so you do need to replace the spent colour cartridge.

If you only need to print in black get a B&W printer not a colour one.

Printer wont print

Turn the printer on. Remove the cartridges. Gently clean the electric contacts on the cartridges and the cartridge carrier. Put the cartridges back in. If the light is still flashing, and your printer won't print, one of your cartridges is faulty. I suggest you go to the refill shop and consult them which cartridges needs a replacement.
Does any message appears on your monitor when you try to print something? Usually, a message saying "problem with black/color cartridge" or something similar, that's why I am asking.

Error 50 c

  1. Power off your printer.
  2. Use both hands to lift up the scanner unit until the scanner support holds it open.
  3. Turn the printer on. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the printer is busy.
  4. Remove the color print cartridge.
  5. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
  6. If the error message reappears, replace the black print cartridge with a new print cartridge.
If it does not repeat steps 1-3 and then go to step 7.
  7. Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black print cartridge.
  8. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
  9. If the error message occurs again, replace the color cartridge.
  10. If an error message reappears, repeat steps 1-3 and reinstall both print cartridges.
Hope this helps.
  1. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
  2. If you receive the error message again, replace both cartridges.

Printer wont print black.already replaced with new ink but still wont print black

did you take the tape off the new cartridge and is the print head burned out for the black? if you installed the diagnostic's on it then run it and see what it says, otherwise expect the print head to be cooked, however it is possible to get a bad ink cartridge try tapping it on your finger and see if ink comes out if it does not then the ink cartridge is dried out or no good, about %15 of print cartridges are bad on just about any brand printer some more than others.

Black wont print

How did you resetted the machine??
Did it gave you any error messages??
Try to take out the black ink cartridge and try to clean the contacts (the copper colored circles) with a cotton swab dampened with bottled water. (don't use tap water coz there are contaminants on the tap water might ruin the contacts). Send me a message if it still wont work

Ink cartridge light keeps blinking BEWARE SPAM NUMBER 1-800-532-4187

you need to print only in black if that is all the ink you have, and also you need to remove the color cartridge as it still registers in the printer as able to be used, although it is empty or near so. Did you remove the tape over the print head fron the new ink cartridge? Do a print head alignment, or use the toolbox icon to tell the printer that you just replaced the cartridge. Some HP models chip the ink cartridges so even a refill wont register as a full tank and the printer wont print. chip needs to be reset (difficult) or just replaced with a new cartridge.
