Although the machine's basket is made of stainless steel, the spider is not. It is composed of an inexpensive, white, aluminum metal, also known as "pot metal," which is subject to corrosion. Here is a link to the basket replacement. The price of the basket replacement may be a little to much cost wise for you and might be better to get a new washer. Let me know if you want to replace the basket and I could walk you thru the replacement process.

Remove the back cover. Inspect the basket for any leakages by filling the water in the basket. If located weld it or seal it with ARALDITE adhesive. Also check the outlet valve at the base of the basket.ensure that outlet valve is seated properly. This should be able to fix the problem, if not then you have to call service engineer to heck the functioning of control panel.

You are referring to the spin basket. The spider arms (there are three of them) are welded to the back of the basket as supports. You cannot purchase them separately as they are part of the entire basket. The replacement part number for the model you have listed is W10250573. You can search the following websites:

Get the actual model number from the refrigerator with the baskets. Then go to the Sears parts website at www.searspartsdirect.com. They have exploded views and parts available for a lot of appliances, and you should be able to get the part number and price for replacement baskets. Once you have a part number, you can do a Google search for that number to locate other suppliers and shop around for a good price. Or you can just check at the store where you purchased the refrigerator about ordering the baskets right through them.

I would not recommend replacing just the plasic basket, too expensive. Once the plastic parts begin to fail, the uint has seen better days (our basket was still ok, but the unit started to leak out the bottom and the timer would stop during the steaming).

Bought a replacment B&D Handy Steamer, oval shape allows longer food items to be steamed (approx 10"x8"), water res & can be filler while steaming. Price was $25 in local hardware (Jan 09). Not worth fixing the old one IMO.
