Why is my TV burning through T-Con boards? Ever time I replace one, it works for 2 hours and then I lose picture again. I've replaced 2 so far.

The service manual in the troubleshooting section says that is a power board error, I would try that board.

Main board feeds the t con board. However try the flash light test on set because it might just be the inverter board that powers the backlighting.

can be tcon, inverter or main board, have to troubleshoot it, schedule a google helpout, use code paul51p for free helpout.

t con board on the back of the screen will need replacing, its the one with the wires going to it from the main av board to the screen. the chip can become damaged due to heat or even come away from the board. if its working when you bag the board it could be a lose connector or the connections that is soldered to the board have come away and will need soldering back on.

The screen flicker than go blank,does it still have power to the tv set?Yes,than this cause only can be causes by only 2 boards in the tv can causes this problems,if tv power still stable for the set.The T-CON board it shorting out and dying for this problems to happen or worst case causes the Main board tv Tuner signal board it dying.The T-CON board the priced it is cheaper and could cause this problems too.Tries change this T-CON board first,see what happen.This board T-CON board sit at the bottom in the middle of the LCD screen panel to decodes pictures pixel before it go onto the LCD screen panel.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish T-CON board for the replacement.

Hi Matt, I know it's been awhile, but I'm making one last ditch effort to fully confirm everything you said. To start with, I replaced the T-Con Board, and it didn't correct the problem. My T-Con Board IS ATTACHED as shown in the picture, with the two ribbon connectors. Since it is connected, are you saying DON'T buy a main board, or are you saying since the T-Con is connected to BUY one? Thanks so much for all your help Matt, I wouldn't have been able to get this far without a good guy such as yourself. If I can't repair, I'm going to part out the boards anyway, if the front panel is bad. Please refer to the picture for clarification. Is it option 1, or 2?

1. T-Con Board attached, DO NOT buy main board.
2. T-Con Board attached, DO buy a main board.

Symptom shows problem with lcd panel (screen) however, t-con board that is part of lcd panel could be defective and cause of these symptoms.
T-Con board is located at top center of cld panel at rear and would be covered with metal shield. There are three type of t-con board utilized according to lcd panel and are available in shopjimmy.com
Please check what t- con board is similar with your tv board to order it. If you are not handy with electronics stuff repair then local tv repairman will help you to replace t-con board that might solve your tv picture problem.
