Battery unauthorised (plugged in not charging)

My computer battery was completely discharged. When I plugged in the charger the battery would not charge. The message 'unauthorised battery' with a 'buy now'option came up. If I hover over the battery symbol it states 'plugged in - not charging'.

Quite possible you have a third party battery in this unit.the one supplied by Lenovo may have a chip in the charging circuits to allow continued charging so when you use any other make it refuses to charge.solution replace with original make or source from EBay.sometimes you can fool the dud battery by repeatedly connecting and disconnecting power until it has a residual charge ,then it may allow the charging sequence to continue.

Unfortunately your cutter is using Ni Cad batteries, the cannot be left on charger any longer that it takes to full charge. Laving them on will damage battery and they develop a memory and that is where they will charge to. No magic mouse milk is available, replace cutter with one that use lithium ion batteries. Less wight quicker charge don;t slow down as it gets low, it will run full speed and then stop. good Luck

Shoprider 888 mobility scooter, when you plug the charger in the scooter the green light just blinks on the charger. Tried 3 chargers. The battery is not completely dead, I can still ride it.

the type of battery these mobility scooters use do not charge if the battery gets really flat. I had a relative who had his scooter taken off him by the nursing home and they left it stored in a shed without plugging it into a charger . Once it got flat the batteries would not charge at all. If only they had left it on a float charge . https://www.everybattery.com.au/deep_cycle_battery_charging.php

Black n decker lithium battry charger keeps flashing red

My 20V battery was stored completely discharged for over 8 months. After all that time I bet the battery was holding no charge whatsoever. When you plug a completely drained battery to a charger the charger will experience a big demand in current and will fault out, flashing red. So we need to put just a little bit of charge in the battery for the charger to start working. What I did is with the battery in charger unplug and plug the charger like 10 times. Every time you plug it in it will send voltage to the battery for a split of a second before the charger fails. Eventually the battery will get enough charge for the charger to start working.

My battrey is not charging

1) is the power source active (some wall sockets have a switch to render power there inactive -Australia)
2) is the charger plugged into an active power strip or an active wall socket?
3) is the charger damaged?
4) how long has the cell phone been charging? If the battery was completely discharged, it may take a bit for it to show a screen of it charging.
5) if the battery will not accept a charge, it will have to be replaced. Lithium batteries retain longer life spans if you charge them when power level is down to about 20 percent, NOT when they are completely discharged.
6) Better write down the battery number and amps when you pull the battery and keep it with phone documentation.

Has been charging for 3 days but does not reach full charge. Now appears to be draining when plugged into charger

Sounds like a faulty charger.have you tried using another charger.have you also tried running the battery completely flat via control panel utilities.sometimes this helps the battery renew its stamina by complete discharge then doing full recharge.lastly if the charger is not faulty and you have tried full discharge and recharge cycle it could be the battery is starting to fail.it is not a good idea to leave the battery on continual charge as this can shorten its life.most batteries last between 500 to 700 recharge cycles before they start to lose their holding capacity.

Ryobi charger model # 140295003 has a red and yellow light. When charging red light is on what does the yellow light mean? Also how long should the battery be left in the charger?

Hi,

The yellow light means that there still is an amount of charge on the battery, meaning that it isn't fully discharged. The red light means that it is partly discharged and you can charge it up.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Thanks,

Does it harm a Ryobi 18v lithium battery to leave on Charger?

Lithium-Ion batteries require careful charging and temperature monitoring while in the charger. Ryobi's Charging station monitors many functions and shuts off when the battery has gone through a complete charge. This is indicated by a steady Green light. Once the Charge indicator is a steady green the charger stops charging. With any battery It will slowly discharge and I don’t think the Ryobi will maintain a battery that is never removed. For example, if after a complete charge cycle if the battery was left there for 2 years and then you went to use it, it would likely be completely discharged. However if the battery charger is unplugged then plugged back in a new charge sequence would start. I lose power at my house about every 6 months or so. Once power is restored a new cycle would start and the charging cycle begins again.
Hope this helps and have a great day.

I have a Dell XPS M1210 laptop for which I have just purchased a new 9-cell compatible battery. It worked great for a couple of hours, but now shuts off immediately when unplugged from the AC power supply....

You might want to try what I did when I had a completely discharged battery for my Dell Laptop. I attached the battery to the computer, make sure the computer is off and plug in the charger for a full twenty four hours (undisturbed). And this really worked. I had no problems with the battery. Good luck.
