I have Print Master Premier 7.0. Is it possible to install on windows 8.1?

If not-would a newer version pick up stored data on my hard drive from the earlier version?

Newer versions of software are usually backwards compatible but why in creation do you want 8.1 - it is a horrible OS and installing it will cause all sorts of operational and software issues. If your unit is working fine stay with what you have. Rule of thumb is that you ONLY upgrade when you absolutely have to! U have been forewarned.

U can go to manufacturer website to check out the requirements and compatibility of your Print Master Premier software.

How i recover my data?

Check your C partition and do a search for windows.old (that is if you were installing windows 7 or 8)
Windows.old is where it would store the data as long as you didn't format.

Remove windows 8 and windows 8.1 back to windows 7

Buy Windows 8 Activation Key 64bit 32bit http://www.Genuinewindowkey.com/
Hearing all the negative sentiments toward the Windows 8 activation key OS made me really cautious in upgrading from Windows 7.
Finally, my Windows 7 became buggy enough that I decided it was time for me to go ahead and upgrade.
The days of reformatting my hard drive and reinstalling Windows OS (95, 98, XP...), when the computer started to act up, are over. I got the pro upgrade version....for a really great price on http://www.Genuinewindowkey.com/ .
I purchased all my software from them. They are the best online store I ever buy.
Installation took a while, with lots of downloading and installing drivers, updates...etc.
When it was finally done, computer was running a lot faster, and all of the weird behaviors of previous installation were gone.
Now as far as using the new OS, it really wasn't that big of a deal. Yes, it's different from the previous Windows; but after 2 or 3 days, I've picked up so many cool features that I truly believe it's a superior OS compared to the previous Windows releases. Really.
The interface is quite convenient once you figure out how to use all the features and what happens when you move your cursor around the screen.
Oh, yeah, and I don't have a touchscreen. Although I'm certain that a touchscreen would definitely be a more effective way to navigate Windows 8, I really have no problems using just the mouse.
So, there you have it. I love this new OS.

I have had an Evesham PC desktop computer since 2002. I use Windows XP. Is there any possibility of downloading Windows 8? Annie

You might need to upgrade a few hardware items first also you might upgrade to vista then windows 8
Creating a new partition on your hard drive gives your future version of Windows 8 a place to live on your drive.
Knowing exactly how much space the OS requires helps you determine how large to make your partition.
Size requirements don't tell the entire story on their own, though.
Other factors like drive type and additional storage help ensure you get the best Windows 8 experience where your hard drive is concerned.

Size Requirements

Both Windows 7 and Windows 8 have the same system requirement regarding hard drive space, so if your hard drive can handle Windows 7, Windows 8 shouldn't be a problem.
For 32-bit versions of the operating system, you'll need at least 16 GB of available disk space. The 64-bit version requires 20 GB.
Your partition will have to be at least one of these sizes, depending on your OS version.
The PC Advisor website warns that these are literally the bare minimum requirements, and using these figures leaves you hardly any space to save files and install apps or programs.
Size Recommendations
You'll get more out of Windows 8 if the operating system has enough free space for you to install your favorite programs and apps.
PC World calls this extra space "breathing room," suggesting you give your Windows 8 partition at least 30 to 40 GB.
If you're dual-booting with another operating system or you're accustomed to keeping excess data on a separate partition, 30 to 40 gigabytes should be fine.
If you'd rather have all your songs, videos and PC games on the same partition as the operating system, consider giving it substantially more space.
Solid State Drive
Windows 8 works on traditional hard drives with spinning disks, but it's optimized to run on a solid state drive.
If you've got an SSD, consider putting your Windows 8 partition on that drive.
While any operating system benefits from the speed increase an SSD brings, ARS Technica specifically recommends this drive type for Windows 8, saying the operating system's "tablet-esque feel and search-heavy usage model will be much better served by solid-state storage."
Other Requirements
Hard drive space is a crucial system requirement, but others are just as important.
Ensuring your computer meets the other requirements before partitioning your drive for Windows 8 saves trouble in case your computer can't handle the OS.
You'll need at least a 1 GHz processor that support PAE, SSE2 and NX.
Your computer has to have at least 1 GB of RAM for 32-bit Windows 8, or 2 GB for 64-bit.
Your graphics card must be at least a DirectX 9-capable card with a WDDM driver. Also, while you're formatting your drive, format the Windows 8 partition in the NTFS format.
Storage Spaces
Storage Spaces is a useful Windows 8 feature when you're working with multiple drives and partitions.
The tool enables you to group drives into one larger storage space so you don't have to constantly switch partitions and explore different drives.
For example, if you create a storage space between two 32 GB flash drives, you'd be able to access it as if it were one larger 64 GB drive.

How To Recover My Data.?

Dear Rabeesh,

I'm guessing that you've formatted hard drive partitions containing Windows 7. If so, the drive will eventually become RAW as it contains the system files and the OS.
You need to run the professional partition recovery software (http://goo.gl/5eEjN), capable to recover RAW partitions from your hard drive. Follow the link mentioned above and try the software. It comes in demo version, so you can try it for free and once assured, you can go for premium version to recover all your data.

I tried to load Print Shop Premier 5.0 into a new computer running Windows 7. I got an error message that said Print Shop Premier 5.0 would not run on the 64 bit operating system. Is there an upgrade or...

The following are some options:

  • Try running the program in 'Compatibilty' mode: this option can be found via the context menu 'properties'.
  • Install a 32 bit version of windows in a Virtual Machine and re-install this application: you can download the free VPC (Virtual PC) from Microsoft web site or VirtualBox from www.virtualbox.org (this is what I use on my W7 Ultimate 64 bits laptop as it has good USB device support).
Hope it helps and good luck.

I have a Maxtor one touch 2 external hard drive,serial#2dd10020,worked fine on Windows XP,I'am now using it on Windows 7,it shows up in computer as drive Z,I cannot unlock it to get to my files, any help...

ok for one your computer no matter what OS you are using stores no drive letter , a drive letter is only given in the order as it is
installed on your system for example if you use 2 internal HDD
and one external HDD your computers C: drive will be the master
the F: will be the slave and the external will be G: , now if you have changed the order of the drives from your last OS then it
will conflict to the last drive letter given , your unit will know
what letter it was given so it must be in the same location for
the new OS , there is also the possibility that Windows 7 doesn't
support the driver for that unit , you can try hooking it up to
another computer retrieving your data , then hooking it back
up to windows 7 run its software , then installing the data back
into your HDD

I have the master cook 7 program in my computer and was considering instaling the 9.0 version. If I would install the newer version would I loose my personal recipies in my cookbook cookbooks?

My wife uses these programs. to ensure you dont lose your collection of recipes, open the folder where they are stored on your computer, just right click the program shortcut, then left click properties and then left click find target. make a copy of the recipes stored in there and just copy it to a backup location.

After you install master cook 7 just copy all the data back to the folder. MY wife states that she didnt loose anything when she upgraded her master cook so you should be ok, never hurts to make a backup though just in case
