Hi, to release computer from standby mode, you could remove battery, put it again an turn on computer, Windows will show computer was not turned off correctly but now you can continue using it.

Dell dimension 3100 restarting

This is generally an indication of boot failure , often as a result of new hardware addition or new software installation. Try pressing the F8 key repeatedly (about once per second) while booting and boot in safe mode. If no success , try removing any hardware (especially flash drives) that was added since the last time the machine worked and try the above again

Ialmrnt5 video driver error

When you first boot up the computer press F5 continously until a boot menu shows up. Then choose "start windows in low-res mode". This option will start windows in the lowest resoloution and hopefully it will boot up and you can change the resoloution. If this does not work you can retry the "safe-mode" selection. If that does not work you may have a problem with the on-board video or video card.

Go on a friend's computer that's working
Get an ISO burning program, plenty of free ones online ( I use ISO Burner by Lsoft Technologies)
Go on thepiratebay.org and find the ISO image of the OS

Dell Dimension wont find hard disks anymore?

If you're comfortable poking around in the BIOS settings, look for a setting related to Hard Disk warm up delay, power up delay, or something similar. If it's there, this is a setting to tell the PC not to try to recognize the drive until it is spinning at a proper rate. Usually it can be set to 1-8 seconds. If it's there, whatever it is now, try adding a few seconds.

If your PC boots fine AFTER you've been through BIOS, but not from a cold boot, this is not a good sign for the drive. If it's a few years old, it could mean that the bearings on the drive are aging and slowing the spinup to the point of not being recognized as quickly as before. Make sure you have your priceless data backed up while the drive is still functioning.

Monitor keep going into "sleep" mode

Check the power setting in control panel of windows. If you have a monitor from another computer swap them and see if the problem stays with the computer or monitor.

Dell Dimension Startup

try going into your BIOS and changing the boot sequence, it may be set to boot from floppy instead of harddrive. or you could just reinstall windows, but that sucks cuz then you lose all your data and programs. and not to be rude, but you shouldnt have bought a dell, they are full of problems.

Sleep mode

If you reformatted the hard drive, you have erased everything. If you have restore or backup disks use them now.
