Hi,
Remove the top grill and on top of the control panel is (1) screw, remove that and gently tap up the control panel to release the panel from the microwave front cabinet. Now as I researched this model, the buttons are part of the panel and are attached to the panel directly. Up may want to replace the microwave as the price is high to replace the panel. Part number is WB07X10972, Good Luck and be safe and unplug this unit before removing this panel.

Micro wave simply quit. How an I check to see if

The fuse is located inside the microwave. You will need to remove the front panel to get to it. It will be located on the black power wire inside the microwave and installed inline. Make sure that the microwwave is unplugged before removing the front panel. Once you locate the fuse inside you will need to remove it and test it with a continuity tester to see if it is blown. If it is make sure you replace the fuse with the same amp rating you found. If the new fuse blows again then there is an electrical short somewhere inside the microwave.

Can anyone get a hold of the Jenn-Air Microwave M170W Button to open the door (Part# 56001009)Mine cracked and the part has been discontinued. Thank you.

Same thing happened to me. I couldn't find a replacement part, but I was able to make a fairly easy functional repair. If you take off the microwave cover, you can reach the back side of the control panel where the door release button is located. With a screwdriver or your finger, you press down on the top attachment tab (it's the swivel point that holds the button in place) with just enough pressure to remove the button. You'll have to do something similar to remove the other half of the broken button. If the two pieces of the button fit neatly together, then you can epoxy a piece of flat metal or rigid plastic to the back side of the button in order to join the two halves. Be sure to clamp the two halves of the button tightly together while the adhesive sets to get a tight fit and minimize the crack line. Let it cure, then replace in the microwave. It's not cosmetically perfect because there is still a hairline crack in the button, but it's not that visible and the button works well. I can't say yet how long this repair will hold up yet. I suppose that will depend on the quality of the bond you achieve when repairing the button. Good luck.

How do I open the front panel of GE Spacemaker 2.0 ? Fuse?

there are screws either on top of or in the grille that allow you to remove it. after screws are removed, open the door, pull lightly toward you starting at the control side if it does not pull, then it may have to be pushed toward the hinge side, then pulled out. behind the grille, is the screw attaching the control panel. lift the panel up before pulling out. Just to add a thought,if the display lights up it is probably not the fuse, although, in some models there is a high voltage fuse, it is pretty rare.

GE microwave Model JVM1540

If you mean the control panel, at our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

If you mean the door, you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) that demonstrates how it's done.

Advantium oven # SCB2000/2001 F3 beeping (replace touch pad) - How?

F3 on a GE / Hotpoint microwave means you have a shorted keypad.

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved in standard models.

Here are specific details on your model:

To replace the control panel, you will need to remove the microwave from the installation. You will also have to remove the top access panel.

Before removing the microwave from installation, disconnect all electrical power to the oven by turning off the appropriate electrical breaker.

Here are the steps for removing the control panel:

1. Remove the oven from the cabinet or wall opening.

* CAUTION: Do not use the oven handle to lift or lower the oven. Damage will occur.

* Be careful that electrical conduit is not caught or stressed during removal.

* This step requires 2 people for removal. The microwave should be grasped from the bottom and the front and rear of each side during removal.

* Remove the 4 mounting screws located in the front oven frame.

* Carefully slide the oven forward and out.

* Lower the oven onto a protective surface for servicing.

2. Remove the top access panel. There should be 9 screw attaching the top panel.

3. Disconnect all connector plugs on the control panel. CAUTION: Be sure to note the location and routing of wires for proper reinstallation purposes.

4. Lift the control panel to disengage the lower hinge tabs from the chassis.

5. Remove the control panel.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

If you would like to have us do this for you, we do that for $39.95 plus part costs.

1997 Jennair microwave M170W

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

If it goes dead or blows the breaker when you plug it in or open or close the door, then there's a problem with a door switch or door switch mount.

If it's intermittent or random, it may be a bad connection, usually on the control board or a loose fuse holder, or even an intermittent fuse.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

Possible fuse blown

That would be located behind the control panel.

In essence, you unplug the oven, remove the grille from across the front, then you'll see the screw holding the control panel on.

Once that screw is removed, the control panel can be lifted up and out, then you should see the fuse.

You can probably find an exploded view by entering your FULL model number here: http://www.searspartsdirect.com

A full Sears/Kenmore model number usually has 3 digits, a dot, then 8 more digits, such as ###.########
