SOURCE: whirlpool dryer

1) sounds like that accudry sensor needs checking. If the accudry sensor (the back box with the two silver trips in it under the lint filter) does not sense wet garment it coul cause the dry to start and then cut off or not start at all. did you try using a cycle that does not sense the load you are dying. 2) the mother board of the dry may need chnaging depening on your dryer. if your dryer is like the cabrio, duet or the senseon dryer then it could be a motherboard problem.

SOURCE: dryer heat shuts off

Hello, reading between the lines I'm going to assume you have a gas dryer. This problem is going to be your safety valve coils...basically they get old and over time of heating then cooling develop a short when they heat up...It may appear the gas lights to start but then goes out until the safety valve coils cool back down. Here is a picture of the coils 57d5263.jpgThis should solve your problem. Hope this helps, Please feel free to comment again if you have any further questions or concerns. Good Luck! Mike

SOURCE: Dryer will not start cycle

Hi-- none of the solutions I've read here are working. Same problem, dryer not starting, it says "Sensing..." and then "Wet" and does nothing. It worked fine on the last load, except I noticed it read 11 minutes for a very, very long time (I think it got stuck). New load? "Sensing..." etc.

When the dryer is turned on, it goes for a few seconds and then stops

It sounds like what senses the motor is turning is not working or the control board has an issue... Pushing the button it and it starting to turn should mean that the over all circuitry is okay though

Start button starts dryer and dryer stops when button is released.

Ge dryers have a belt sensing switch inside that won't let the dryer run (just as you describe) when the belt breaks or comes off. My guess is you broke a belt. With door open---hold in button door switch and hit the start switch to get it too run a few seconds. Watch the drum and see if it turns. My guess it will not. Belt is a long skinny band that goes all around the drum outer area and then down around the motor.

Dryer not drying

First thing to check is the vent. Make sure you have sufficient air flow to the outside. If you are not sure if you have the proper rate of flow, disconnect the vent from the dryer, turn dryer on and see if burner stays on longer. Do this with a couple of damp, spun-dry towels inside the drum. If the burner short cycles again, you need to replace the coils on top of the burner assembly. These are the two black round coils.

GGW9200 Dryer Does Not Dry. Status Light goes immediately to Wet

if the heat is only staying on for a few seconds and cutting out the vent line could be clogged, pull out the dryer, remove the vent line from the back and start it,if the heat stays on the vent is blocked, this is the easiest thing to start with,if the vent is clogged you can try a leaf blower and blow the lint out of the vent line
