The Base says new cid:34. How do I get it back where it was. I tried to get a number that rang and it changed the settings

I was trying to see who called and the phone is not functioning correctly. She has life light on this phone but it took voice mail off and it only rings 4times and she loses the call. It says on it new cid:34 on the base. I need to get it back to where it was

Julie,

Sounds like 34 is the # of calls that came in on the caller ID (CID) lis

To open the Caller ID list, press the little phone handset symbol (it looks like a big "C" then ID next to it) on the right side of the 4-way button (it toggles 4 ways, so press to the right side to get the Caller ID list).

The phone will show the number of new calls (or Caller ID records) and the total number of stored CID records. Use the "up" arrow and "down" arrow to scroll through the list.

It looks like you have the Uniden DECT 6.0 6035, so I attached the manual in case it helps.

You can set up the answering machine if the voicemail was deactivated by Lifeline (page 38 in manual shows how to set up answering machine). If 4 rings is not enough, you can change the # of rings (page 40) and to use the answering machine/voicemail, see page 42 in manual.

SOURCE: base phone handset #1 holding charge

The base unit should not need a charge. It should be powered by the plug in adapter. It may have a battery to keep operation for a short time in a power outage. The adapter may be loose, the adapter could be broken or the plug in the phone may be broken.

SOURCE: Uniden TRU9488 Phone

OU might need to deregister the hand set first by holding down the red end (hang up key) and keep it down while holding the # key. If deregister wont work use base unavailable and yes, you are sure twice.

List the handset numbers of those working handsets
Using a WORKING handset follow these directions
Resetting Handsets
If you want to register the handset to a different base or
replace a handset with another one, you must first clear the
registration information from the base and the handset.
1. Press and hold [ ] and [#] for
at least 5 seconds, until the
SYSTEM RESET menu
appears.
2. Select the DEREGISTER HS
submenu. WHICH HANDSET?
appears in the display.
3. Move the cursor to select the handset ID to be de-registered
from the list, and then press the OK soft key. DEREGISTER HS
appears. CHOSE A NUMBER THAT IS NOT ONE OF YOUR WORKING HANDSETS
4. Move the cursor to select YES, and then press the OK soft key.
When ARE YOU SURE? appears, select YES. You will hear a
confirmation tone.
PUT THE HANDSET IN THE BASE CHARGER AND IT SHOULD REGISTER

Hope This Helps - It worked for me

SOURCE: IT RINGS BUT YOU CAN NOT ANSWER THE PHONE EXECT FROM THE BASE

See if in the menu choices there is an option to reset all factory defauts. It seems someone has mistakenly locked out the other to units. Can you still use them as intercoms?

SOURCE: We just bought a new

If you have changed the setting on the base station and that did not work, power your base station off completely and try again if that does not work you have an out of box defect and need to exchange it.

How to set time on phone

Which Uniden DECT 6.0 phone do you have? There are many.

Some Uniden phones will set the time automatically if you have Caller ID from your telephone provider.

To manually set the time on the Uniden D2280, press Menu on the handset when it is in standby. (It's the center of the wheel with the up/down arrows.) Go down to the Date and Time submenu and press Menu again. Enter the time and day using the keypad (press CID to advance past a character without changing it). Then select AM or PM. Press Menu to save. Press the phonebook key to go back to a previous menu or End to exit.

For the DECT1580, you set the date and time similarly. However, you start by pressing Menu on the base when the phone and handsets are not in use. (Have the handsets within range of the base.) Use the up/down arrows to select the day of the week. Then use the keypad to enter the current time.

The manuals for most Uniden DECT phones are here: http://www.uniden.com/bin/venda?ex=co_disp-view&bsref=uniden&scat=dectphones_mnl . They are listed in numerical and alphabetical order. Ignore the number after the dash in the model number, that merely indicates the number of handsets in the original package. One manual will cover units sold with different number of handsets.

I hope this helps.

Out of range

I successfully reset Radio Shack (Uniden) 5561 handset by reconnecting the battery while holding the '*' and '#' key, then press the right upper soft key near the LCD window. The display will indicate "EEPROM/RAM cleared!!" and will return the handset to the factory default condition - looking for a base to register to.

No ring on handset

It may have lost the link to the base unit. Make a note of all the personal details, stored number, etc., then reset the handset. Do this by pressing the spanner button until the display changes, then press and hold the 'R' (delete) button until the handset resets. You'll have to set it up again, but at least it will link.
Spanner then 1 for ringtone, CID for volume.
Spanner then 2 for keypad bleep, 1=off, 2=on.
both cases press spanner to confirm changes.
