Where are the fuses located in a frigidare stove

Good Afternoon Friend, this is Z. Thank you for your post!

I understand you are seeking the fuses location in your Frigidaire range. May I please have your model number? You can typically locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) in the storage drawer, on the right side. Please describe what your appliance is doing so that I can assist you better in pinpointing the problem before you take this step. Thanks!

Hotpoint oven manual

I found that GE offer a specific plug which allows four connections:
Universal range power cord (4W / 4' / 40A) WX09X10035
5893039c-cfe7-44c1-9373-7e800f4c982d.jpg
You may need to find out if you have such a socket or how to produce such a socket.

Can a large amount of water going inside your stovetop damage ruin it?

Yes it can, especially if it is not dried out immediately, It gets into the plates and insulation and will cause your earth leakage to trip out. With the stove unplugged or switched off, use a hair drier or heat gun to dry out all the water, especially the plates as water seeps into the internal insulation and causes a short. If there are signs of rust, clear this off with a fine wire brush (remember to keep the power switched off). If you can, after drying out the stove, check for current floe between earth and neutral and earth and live to make sure that there is no chance for a leakage there - use a multimeter set on the ohm scale or a Megger meter. There should be no continuity.

My Defy 621 stove causes the earth leakage to trip after a few minutes when the oven is swithed on. The thermostat was resently replaced. Could it be one of the elements, although it seems they are...

Most likely an element. When the heating wire expands inside the tube it contacts earth and kicks out the earth leakage. Select 'grill' and try the oven. If it does not trip out the lower element is the culprit. Replacement is easy for a reasonably adept handyman - just make sure that the mains are off!

I am just about to disconnect our old oven and have found the live and neutral and am fine with how they connect but am a little unsure as to how the earth will connect to the small earth tab on the new...

You may need to get a wire connector to install on the ground (earth) wire, so it can be connected to the terminal connection point on the new oven.

If one wasn't provided with the oven, some do this as a service, just look at the ground terminal or in the bag with the instructions, etc. for one. If not, you should be able to purchase one, you'll just need to get one that fits the wire, so knowing the gauge of the wire (either Awg or Kcmil size) will make this easier to get the right connector size.

I recommend that a ring terminal be used, so in the event that the fastening screw might loosen, the ring terminal will not fall off the contact point, whereas a fork terminal could and can come off much more easily.

Not having more detailed info about the brand and where you're located, makes further possible solutions difficult to provide, since Fixya doesn't require requestors to provide any info on what country they're in, etc.

Nonetheless, I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!
