My Playstation works fine for about 5-10 minutes and then it either freezes up when watching a Blu Ray or when I play COD 5: World At War. I notice during game play that my character has no sound (rifle makes no noise, I dont hear myself breathe when shot or running, when I call in recon/artillary/dogs, etc) but I can here the gun shots and everything from other players. Not sure why that is. And after the 1st match is over it goes to start loading for next match and thats when it feezes during the "Loading..." screen. I have restored/reformatted my PS3 and everything and still seems to do the same thing. Not sure what else to do. I've unplugged and replugged everything to try to reset the hook up and stuff. Any ?'s or advice would be appreciated. Thanks
This is the code for disk error. Make sure the disc is clean and try again. If that doesn't work, try a different copy of the disk and see if that helps.

The issue is the Blu-Ray diode. If one disc stops working 100% of the time but the other two types still work (DVD and CD) then the blu-ray diode died. The good news is that a handy person can fix it for about $45. Just do your research and watch a few youtube videos on replacing the laser and opening the case to make sure you are comfortable. I just did it and it was fine. You can buy the laser assembly on eBay, just make sure you go local and get a warranty. Don't buy overseas.
its probably that the blu ray diode is dirty, thats why your getting
that error or a dirty disk. try cleaning it and the disk... there might b a tiny speck of smudge or something on a certain exact spot of the game thats causing it to give u the error.. well anyways dirty lens/disk is the reason for the error message

Please advise what FirmWare Version you are currently running on. You can find this under;
Settings>System Settings>System Information.
Once I have this info I will provide you with the best fix if needed but It is probably down to out of date drivers. There have been a number of changes to the blurays drivers recently and if these havent been updated then this will most likely be your problem. To solve this all you need to do is take your system online and download the newest FirmWare update. - There are people who NEVER use the system online for different reasons. Since you brought the system BluRay has gone through 4 upgrades. Any BluRays you buy now wll likely be incompatible for playback with the drivers you have on your system.

It's a factory defect. I've fixed over 100 PS3's with the same exact problem. Your blu-ray laser went out. You need to contact Sony or if you're in Los Angeles you can contact me. I fix the problem for $120 and within 30 minutes. Sony charges $150+ and takes God knows how long.
That is the common "dirty disc" error. If it happens with every game, it more than likely means that your Blu-Ray diode is dirty. Do you have the PS3 in a dusty environment? Be sure to clean the vents on the side, above the USB ports and on the back of the PS3 on a daily basis. A quick swipe of a soft cloth will do.
You can try several solutions for your problem, the most common to buy a can of air and blow it inside the disc drive in hopes of cleaning the diode. You can also try a CD/DVD cleaning disc.
If it happens with every disc this could also mean a dreaded Blu-Ray drive failure, or in your case, one that is in the process of failing.
If cleaning it does not work, I highly recommend you give Sony support a ring.
I was having this problem with GTA IV from GameFly, it was working fine for the first few days, then got the 8001002B error. After searching the PS3 forums, I found out it was a "Dirty disc" error. I wiped the disc down, put it back in my ps3, and it worked fine.
Check your discs if you are having this problem and see if you have smudges/scratches/etc. If not, then it may be your reader in your ps3.
