May be a burned out collector of the armaturebetween the brush holder and armature ballbearings are maybe poor change the motor , and replace allways 2 brushes if its possible because 1 fieldcoil stator of the motor should have a problem if 1 brush is shorter than the other brush there is a disbalans with 1 long and a short brush , in the early years 50 60 or the more expensive vaccuums like Kirby 600 W motors
it is useful to change brushes buit in 60% of the cases you lost the brushes again in 1 month .

HOW DO i FIX bISSELL pROHEAT BELT

Hi, it's Cindy from Crucial Vacuum.

Your Bissell 9200 Proheat 2x vacuum's brushroll is connected to the motor by two different sized geared belts. Over time, the belt's gears wear down and stretch out losing the grooves and tension that turn the roller. Another cause could be there is debris stuck on the roller and/or bearings. To gain access to your belts, follow the steps listed below:

1. Step on the release pedal and recline the handle down.
2. Remove the Tank-In-Tank and SmartMix Tank.
3. Using a flat head screwdriver to gently pry the access door, remove belt access door located near the floor cleaning switch nearest to the handle.
4. On the bottom of the machine, use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the red retainer plate.
5. Remove the black brush arm holding the brush in place.
6. Locate and adjust the two belts.

You can purchase direct your replacement belts from Crucial Vacuum with free shipping and an exclusive 10% coupon for Fixya.com viewers, use code: FIXYA10

Replace belt on Bissell 7901 Proheat

On the underside of the unit, you will see a red cover about 1 inch square held on by a phillips screw on one end of the brush roller unit...remove it & you will see the toothed rubber agitator brush belt.

Brushes aren't turning on Bissell Proheat 2X and it is almost new.

New or old, flip the vacumm over, and remove the long hair and debris from the roller brushes. If they don't spin after removing any debris, the
belt, that turns the brushes has come off,or the motor is bad. You wil
have to take the bottom section apart,to see what's going on,then.
Good luck.

Brushes won't spin

Remove the bottom plate and check the drive belt from the motor to the brush roller--if the belt is broken or damaged, replace it. You need to remove the brush roller from the frame to put the new belt on--make sure to make a half-turn twist of the new belt in the correct direction if required. Also, remove the end bearings from the roller and clean all the accumulated thread, hair, and other debris from the roller ends and bearings. Replace the bearings as they came off, because some are not symmetrical.

Brush Motor Replacement

This the number for the brush roll motor, 2036757, is it the one you got? I don't remember having to remove the pulley, I am thinking that the pulley is on the new motor. The 8920 is a good number? Where you on the Bissell site, or some other site.

Bissell Proheat Carpet Cleaner

First remove the some cover on the lfet side that is on top, then turn unit over, remove the red lock plate, has 1 screw, pull it out, then you can pull the end cap out, remove it, the cogged belt is there. If while you have the brush roll off, the pump belt can be replaced also. REmove old belt, put new belt over the bigger round part of the pump pully, feed it thru opening, then from the top, grap it and stretch it over the motor shaft. Then put the cogged belt on and reinstall the brush roll and the red lock.

Bissell Proheat 2x Series 8920 - Brush Belt Metal Shaft Sprocket won't turn

Most likely the brush motor is bad and not turning, part #2036757, would sell for around $23. To get to it, start taking out screws on the top cover, that motor is under the that top access cover.

Can you help me?

Remove the belt cover, Turn the Bissell over, remove the brush asm. You can then change both belts. While you have the belts off, check the cogged gear on the pump, if it is stripped smooth, then you will have to replace the pump also. The gear comes with the pump and not separately.
