Just try a hard reset to this TV, and check. There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

You need to disconnect the power from this tv, then press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds to drain the charge off the circuit boards inside. Then plug it back in and start over. If this does not solve the problem you may need to have it checked out by a repairman. You should still be under warranty so report the problem and file a warranty claim.

I am trying to hook up a 26 inch viZio to my hip desktop utilizing the VGA cord. It won't come up? I am on the comp screen on the tv also.
Once you plug the VGA cable from the computer to the VGA port on the tv, get the remote for the TV and go to the Select Input function so that you can select PC or Computer as the input source. Then Reboot the Computer.

Once the computer reboots it will probably display on the tv. If not, Press and Hold the FN function key on the computer then hit the correct key (F1 thru F12) that toggles the display. The correct key (F1 thru F12) will have LCD/CRT on it or it might have the icon of a display.
Once it is pressed the video should toggle each time you hit it from showing on the Computer only, TV only, both the TV and Computer.

** TV won't turn on.** No picture or sound. Please Help !
If the red light won't come on it is not getting power.First,try plugging it in to a different outlet,or unplug one of the gadgets you know is working and plug the tv in there.You are simply switching.If you know that there is power coming from the outlet and it still won't come on then you'll have to check the cord;don't go much farther than that without expert help.

Sylvania 730SVD flat screen with built in dvd... Can't eject dvd inside and when turned on the digital words show up and keep flashing black gray green red... The remote won't even work..
Try resetting the TV by disconnecting it from the mains outlet for 1/2 hour, then connect to the main outlet and switch on the TV.

I have got vga leads for my lapto to tv , they work with my 14" laptop but won`t work with my sons 7" laptop
Things to try:

1. make sure that the vga port is enabled on the laptop usually its
function key and an F key that has a (O) looking symbol above it you may need to toggle it more than once.

2. try a different screen resolution.

3. test the vga port with a standard old monitor to make sure that it works.
