How can I get my machine to stop jamming

Suddenly has stopped sewing and it keeps jamming

Hi Doreen Richardson, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? what make model and age please. If the machine is jamming it is usually the timing or threaded incorrectly. Re thread from scratch and check the bobbin is in the correct way - with thread coming back on itself through the tension spring = the small spring slit in the bobbin case.

Have you tried oiling all moving parts. Go under presser foot under bobbin and remove all lint. Try to change the needle.

SOURCE: Very inexperienced sewer! How do I thread it?

The way I solved this problem was to take a break! When I resumed I was more patient and found that I wasn't doing the bobbin right. I took my time and got it right this time....hooray!

Hello,
Please try removing the bobbin case and then move the wheel. It is very likely that the bobbin case came out of place and causing the machine to lock up.
Thanks,
Pat

I have a Juki HZL 7800 computer sewing machine. I was sewing when it suddenly stops. I let it rest for 25 minutes, it worked but after a while it stopped again.

Make sure all working parts are lubricated sufficiently if not parts will overheat enough to jam ,once they cool down the machine will run again for a while but will most likely jam again

My Toyota sewing machine was working perfectly well, but suddenly stopped, the machine appears to be jammed, What do you think the problem is?

Probably the thread is wrapped in the bobbin area. Remove the needle and try to remove the bobbin case. Otherwise, very carefully snip the thread nest and pull the threads out piece by piece. Don't yank!!!

I was sewing and all of a sudden it started to slow down and stopped. Have tried to sew again and sounds like it is jammed. I have taken machine apart and there is nothing visible that can be in the way....

My singer touch & sew suddenly didn't stop

There might be something jamming the petal open so it won't slow or stop when you put your foot on it.. I would try that, get some canned air and blow it out and see if it helps.
