How to reset the ABS light on 2006 Chevy Colorado?

Disconnect the battery for 10 min. , but if the light comes back on there is a hard fault associated with a DTC - diagnostic trouble code ,which will need to be checked .

1999 f-250 Xlt 2 wd abs light on right brakes sometimes seem slow releasing brakes

You might have a pinched or plugged brake line leading to that wheel, or an ABS malfunction in that wheel's circuit could be giving you trouble.

2006 HYUNDAI Sonata I figured I'd bleed the the rear brakes after replacing the rotors and pads. 120,000 Miles with no previous brake issues besides normal replacement of front rotors and pads. After...

Try re-bleeding ALL wheels starting with furthest away - pass rear, then driv rear, then pass front and driv front. That should get your pedal back. To reset light you need ABS reset tool and it's EXPENSIVE. Have a good competent shop reset it for you. Body shops can reset them also.

1998 chevy express van 3500 front brakes and rear are new, front calipers are new but ABS light on dash is on, the front brakes smoke after a little while of driving. Thanks Joe

I'd first make sure the new pads are the correct size. Doesn't happen very often but maybe the parts person gave you the wrong size pads ( for the smoking problem). As for the ABS light, most newer cars will throw out codes if you wait too long to change them out, I would contact a chevy dealer or search online about reseting the code (light).

How do you get the front rotors off of a 2004 Chevy Colorado? More specifically, do you take off the hub assembly, and if so, how?

If this is a 4wd the rotors are "captured" and machined on the truck using an on car lathe. Otherwise you should get a printout of all the steps from a dealer.

Chevy Cavalier 2001 ABS Brake problem

You don't say what brakes.

I have had many cavys and worked on them. Great cars.

Your problem sounds like a **** rear wheel cylinder and bad drums/rotors and abs sensor wire.

My car just did everything you describe, I put in new wheel cylinders, drums, brakes, rotors, and 2 new rear brake lines. For less than 200 bucks the car is like new again and has well over 100k.

You can do it yourself. Doesn't take special tools. I followed online how-to's.

Abs light

This is a (4) four wheel sensor system and more than likely one of them has failed. This will cause ABS module to turn on warning lamp and make the brake pedal 'act up' under the right conditions. This 'acting up' is the ABS system getting a false signal that a wheel is not turning the same as the others when it actually is. Have it scanned for codes and a streaming data scan on a road test under the same conditions that you are experiencing the 'act up' to pinpoint the fault. Hope this helps! Please rate me.
