SOURCE: digtal answering machine not working.

I don't know yet if this is a resolution, but I'm going to try this tonight. Unplug all bases and remove all batteries from all handsets -- leave this overnight.

Here's the history of my problem. I rec'd this phone for my birthday. 3 weeks in, power went off in my building and answering machine part stopped working. I took it back to the store, and they gave me a new one. 4 weeks in, another power outage and I have the same problem. I called Panasonic, and they told me to unplug all bases and remove the batteries in the handsets for 'a few minutes' to reset the units. I waiting 10 minutes, and replaced all batteries and plugged in all the bases again. No luck, answering machine still did not work. I noticed, however that the phone did not reset as I still had all my phone numbers and caller id history.

I called my brother who is an electrician, and he advised me that the base has a 'capacitor(sp?)' and it will probably take a few hours for it to 'drain' so the phone will reset itself. His suggestion is to unplug all the bases, remove all the batteries and leave everything OVERNIGHT. By that time, the power store in the base should hopefully be wiped out and the phone should reset like new. I will try this tonight and let you know if this works.

SOURCE: Have a Panasonic KX-TG1061C with 3 handsets. Handsets work perfectly. None of corded base unit buttons work.

to turn off night mode http://www.manualslib.com/manual/793900/Panasonic-Kx-Tg1061c.html?page=25
do not think night mode would cause your problem.
check dialing mode #120
TONE ?
When you unplugged the base unit did you pull out the ac adapter for about 30 seconds to reset the base unit ?

Blinkinkg light

Go here, enter your model number, choose solve a problem, and see errors diaplayed on your product or search error lights or blinking lights. You'll get instructions for your printer. You may need to reset it by unplugging both data and power cables for awhile, then reconnecting.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

Answer light flashes, answering machine doesn't answer. have no manual.

Possible solution.

I have the same problem -- I returned the phone and got a new one. 3 weeks later, the power went out -- same thing. Light flashes but phone won't work.

I called Panasonic and they advised me to remove all the batteries from the handsets, and unplug all the bases for 'a few minutes'. This did nothing...when I plugged everything in, answering machine still would not work.

I spoke to my brother who is an electrician, and he said the base has a 'capacitor' in it, and will not drain down (so phone can be reset) unless it's unplugged for at LEAST a few hours. He suggested I unplug everything and remove the batteries and leave it all overnight. Will attempt this and let you know if this is a resolution.

Flashing message light

Insert a new 9 Volt battery (machine will work without a battery if you want to ignore the blinking light)
