F-40 is a communication error between the main board and the motor control unit, or it could be a bad inline fuse between the two in the wire harness on the l-1 side.

The LD means Long drain time...that error code coupled with the hum i believe something is stuck in the drain pump preventing it from turning and that is why its humming
The F1 error code means that the computer thinks a button on the touchpad is stuck. Sometimes this can be resolved by making sure the touchpad connector fits tight into the control board. The F1 code can be cleared by pushing CANCEL/OFF. If it returns the touchpad needs to be replaced .

Door unlock failure Excessive force on door lid is preventing lock bolt from retracting. Wash media buildup is preventing lock bolt from retracting. Machine/motor control cannot determine if door lid is in an unlocked state. See TEST #8, page 14
I had this same issue. My dryer would run and heat up but then stop and give me the f40. I measured all thermisters and everything was in range. The tech sheet stated that I needed to buy a new control board and I did. Same problem. The solution was a loose connection on for p4. I took needle nose pliers and squeezed the connector to make it fit tight on the board and everything is working now. Bottom line, expensive dryer with cheap connectors.
F40 = thermal fuse blown. If the fuse is OK the error points to a communication problem between the machine control board and motor control board (check connectors).
Code F2 means a stuck button. I removed the interface and lightly sprayed each with contact cleaner. So far this is working. The interface costs about $160 and contact cleaner, $10. Good luck.
After just now calling the service center it seems that unplugging the machine for 30 seconds or so will reset the control panel. The F 40 code means the signal wasn't working in the machine and resetting it solved the problem. Kind of like when you have to unplug the computer sometimes.
