The inhibit icon is coming up on the remote start, and car won't start.

What type of car are you having problems with?? Is it a remote starter fob you are using or a regular key fob? Do any of the instrument panels lights come on when you turn the key? If not, then you may have a bad battery or battery connection. If the come on and nothing happens when you turn the key to the start , then you have a problem with the current getting to the starter or the starter itself.

The best answer is inside your owner's manual Section 2 page 6. I believe you have to program your key fob. The HOW TO is there;

Car electronics can be very tricky sometimes. Changing the battery in your remote should not cause any need to reprogram your key or remote. I have a trick for you to try:

The old car battery reset trick
I know this sounds absurd, but it works sometimes and is worth trying. If you exhausted all of the options above, disconnect bot terminals on your car battery for 10 minutes. Then reconnect them and try your key fob. This has worked for many people and I have no idea why. If you do, please comment below to explain.

First things first...replace the cheaper part first, the battery. It that works, great! If not, then you may need a new key fob then have it programed to your system.

May be keyfob needs reprogramming.

Keyfob remote reprogramming is not very difficult but on some cases it can be done by dealer service tools.

If the remote s faulty then key fob will not get programmed.

Insert the key in ignition. Turn the key to on position, and cycle the key three times off-on-off-on-off-on. Then with the key fob remote select your remote and then try to operate the vehicle with remote.

These are just the basic procedure, but sometimes it will not help.

On that case dealer is the only option.

You most likely have an aftermarket fob and remote start unit.What is the brand on the back of your key fob?You will have to get the proper reset and registration procedures for the particular unit installed in your car to make your key work normally.

ok, first of all batteries are not expensive, they are priceless when you need them. Your remote will work best if you make sure the battery is in full clean contact with the tangs inside the battery spot on the remote. keep the insides clean with an old toothbrush and some rubbing alcohol. ( the fob, not the battery ) .. if its a money issue, you can look for alternate sources for your battery needs, like goodwill in the electronics section, the battery used in most remotes is a common 2016 or a 2032 battery.. they are all over the place in other electronics.
