they are no solid lifters.
they are HLAs

has this PDF

http://www.6x6world.com/images/suzuki-swift-engine-manuals/

the 4th link is the fsm pages on G10/.

or the wiki on G10 states that

my guess, is the post should read.
why are my, HLA's making noise.
    answer.
there gummed up (clean em.) or bad.
    or very low oil pressure.
or the head oil orifice is clogged.
if latter is true the dam will seize soon.

How I adjust valve on 96 Geo Metro 3 cylinders?

You need to replace the valve came bearing for that valve if it's a Suzuki 1.0 engine. Easy to do.

How do you remove the camshaft in a 97 geo metro

yours is bad, why not offer CONTEXT to the question>?
which engine.?? 1.0 or 1.3?

the FSM covers every tiny step here.
factory service manual,, get one and read all the special steps.
or at alldata.com , log in and read, its all there, every day.

The G series, engines, 1.0, and more.
is SOHC, single overhead cam.
all have a cam belt
so in a nut shell,
remove the valve cover
remove belt cover. (lots of steps, im not typing them all out) RTM
loosen tensioner stud, and idler center bolt.
the belt falls off. (timing is now lost)
release all lash adjusters.
remove all came caps.
came is free.

on mine i had to lock the cam and pull the front cam cog wheel.
then remove the front cam seal.

out is easy,
back in , is many move steps (timing) and such.

My 1997 Geo Metro would sputter & stop in traffic & Firestone said I need a Valve Intake Motor

Old post, my first metro..... (im a tracker fixer)
firestone ? tire store? what is their service, do the fix cars?
y/n?
in canada? please post country, usa and canada cars are different.
how can an none existent company GEO authorize anything, wow.
my guess is you asked firestone to do the impossible and they gave you the std, corporate answer, (bs)

why not post the symptoms.
then if you need a part, say what it is.
or why a test fails.?
or how to use tools.? how to do the tests>/ or ?

stalling engines are caused by over 50 reasons. i have a list.
but why do that.? why guess?
why not diagnose it or do the tune up first.
did you tune it up yet?
that is, do the 60kmile (100km) service steps? if not why not?
1liter engine? which engine? you did not say , nor the VIN.
the timing belt must not be run over 60k miles.
Topfail for all belt engines, never serviced. and now has late valve timing, (huge loss in power and tons of black nasty smoke)

same with filters and spark plugs/cap/rotor, wireset.

if you read your op guide it told you to check the EGR at 50k,
did you do that.? they tend to get filthy , thus the top service point.

EGRs love to stick open and stall any engine.
especially just before coming to a stop sign.
Can you prevent that stall , with a fast acting right foot?
yes/no.
yes, then if it was easy, it might be ISC sticking
if hard to , then EGR stuck open.
if impossible. (lost fueling, lost all spark, or lost 12v power to ECU, or horrible lost engine compression.
not doing valve lash at 60k, invites burned to crisp exhaust valves.
and stalls hot.

btw
its all here
alldata dot com.

Does a 1996 Geo Metro have the same engine as a 1997 Geo Metro?

join a metro forum,

few cars on earth had one engine , most have options
the metro had 3.
so if both cars had the same engine , are they the same.
is the real question.
read the wiki on geo metro.
here is one other issue , quoted
1997 featured the four-cylinder engine with a new sixteen-valve head (rather than the eight valves of the earlier design)

that means the EFI is different and head. (at least)

Do the valves need to be adjusted on a 92 geo metro lsi

No. Geo Metros use hydraulic lifters which can not be adjusted. If you Metro is making excessive valve noise, the lifters are probably worn out or the oil level is low.

When i start my 1997 Geo Metro, it often sputters

Try this
Here are the most common causes of surges, stalls at stops, low erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation, it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.
