How do I turn on scan symbol $ instead of /D?

Why?

Omni directional scanners displays a circle and will scan in any direction as long as the circle is focused on the center of the bar-codes.

Cheaper scanners display a bar because it only scans in one direction.

In the Quick start guide, try scanning the "Set Defaults" barcode, This will restore the device to factory default.

Symbol barcode scanners by default do not add a return after a scan. You need to program the scanner to add a suffix.

Scan a barcode

You may need to enter two "rules", each adding an "enter" to the data. This is programmed by scanning special barcodes in the manual, which you can download here:

The barcode must be a Code 39 barcode, not a Code 39 Extended or Full ASCII barcode. The Enable Code 39 Full ASCII must be scanned from the Symbologies section of the LS2208 Product Reference Guide (page 186 of 342). The Enable Function Key Mapping barcodes would have to be scanned if you are seeing something other than the tab happen when you scan into your application. In Word, for instance you will see the italics enable/disbled whenever the $I is encountered in the barcode.

As for the Covert to Code 39 Full ASCII- that is for Wand and Scanner emulation. The setting was having no effect because you were not connecting to either of these hosts.

This device has an Digital Imager (instead of laser scanner) which supports 1D and also 2D barcodes.

sounds like a driver problem.

1. reboot your "Computer"
2. re-install driver
3. test print.
