I have an EU6500is and would like to add an Automatic Generator Start. The unit has a built in remote control connector in the battery compartment. Can anyone tell me what connector I can buy to mate with the built-in remote control connector in the unit?
Talk with an accredited electrician as there will have to be a special relay/ breaker in the fuse board of the house
the problem is that your genset cannot be running when utility power comes back on as it will destroy the genset
the electrician can wire the board so that when utility power is available the gen set can be started but not connected to the house
when the utiltiy power fails the relay switches over to the gen set and allows it to start and power the house
when utiltiy power is restored the relay disconnects the gen set and reconnects to the utiltiy power supply
This is not a job for anyone except a fully qualified electrician
Thanks very much for the response. My system is an off-grid system and is in service. I'm really not looking for the integration to the power grid, but merely the molex type connector required for a remote start device connecting to the EU6500is. The remote start port connector in the battery compartment already exits and I am looking for the corresponding connector to mate with the built-in connector.
I have attached a photo of the connector I need to make the remote start connection to the genset.
