Last time I had a machine that did that it was the needle bar had a slight bend in it, I replaced the needle bar for $20.99 & from Sewing Parts online. I saved $100 service call by doing it myself. Very easy. Usually the needle bar bends when you sewed something too heavy for the machine.
Install a brand new needle. Remove all the thread from the machine. Remove the bobbin case. Clean the bobbin area of any dirt, lint, or threads. Consult your owner's manual for cleaning and oiling instructions and proceed accordingly. (Use ONLY good quality sewing machine oil!) BEFORE threading the upper thread, RAISE the presser foot so the tension disks will accept the thread properly. Then re-thread totally from the beginning--verify that it is being threaded in the proper sequence. Install the bobbin case and test.

It may be cotton threads around the bobbin shaft causing it to jam up
take it to a sewing machine service center and have it serviced
