Can not start a wash cycle

When trying to push a wash cycle the following buttons light up and we are unable to change. The autoclean, rinse only, steam sanitize and delay hours(2). I've disconnected the power supply and tried to see if the control panel would reset, this did not do anything. we have a Maytag 575-2 MOD# MDB6769P4WO, Serial# F21302382

Hello. From the symptoms you describe, the problem might be a defective control panel. First, make sure the control lock is not enabled!! Look for a button that has a "key" symbol or the word "lock" underneath it. Touch and hold for 5 seconds until the lock is disabled. The part numbers for the different styles of the dishwasher for the control panel are:
BLACK--W10329522
WHITE--W10329521
BISQUE--W10329523
STAINLESS--W10329524
The touch control panels can become damaged from a variety of causes. Power surges(Have you had an outage in the last 3-4 weeks!?), defective components, moisture invasion, etc. are the most common culprits. If a button is "electrically stuck"(i.e. the computer thinks you're still pressing it), nothing else will work until the button is released. It is just like any other appliance with physical buttons(soft touch for example on a microwave or range). Now, if the dishwasher actually starts when you press the start button, then the problem lies with the main control board(part# W10352588)--remember--a stuck button will prevent any other action until it's released. The troubleshooting on this unit is relatively complicated--when diagnostic mode is entered, the clean light will flash a certain number of times for the first part of an error code(function code, then it will flash again a certain number for the second part, problem code,(ex. blink 6 times, wait, blink 1 time). There is an error code chart that has the meanings to the different sequences--(ex. a 6-1 is inlet water valve(function), and then "no water"(problem). You press the start button to advance to the next stored error code. Power off the unit to go back to normal mode. If you are hesitant about performing any of the troubleshooting, call for service! I hope this helps you!

I just read this for the same problem: push sanitize, then heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, cancel, then open and close the door. It worked. The dishwasher is running correctly even as I type this.

SOURCE: Error flashing and won't reset.

hi there,

PF stands for power failure. the first you should do is check your house breaker and make sure that you did not trip the fuse.

Does anything run? Can you hear the motor running? If not, you have no power coming into the machine. In this case it's the main control board that needs to be replaced.

If the motor hums, it means you have power to the d/w, in that case you need to replace the touchpad.

thanks

I suspect for either of these units that the timer control boards are bad.

Check whether the door is getting closed fully. Try pushing little hard. If the door close switch problem it may work.

Contact service for help if u can not proceed further with electrical circuits. Micro-controller board to be checked!

Try un-plugging the dishwasher (check for cord under the sink) or turn off the breaker to it to re-set the control board. If this does not resolve your issue you may have a defective key panel.

Kenmore Dishwasher #15769

Try this solution first
Push the Hi-temp and then push the Sani-rinse. Go back and forth multiple times on these two buttons. I found that after a handfull of pushes that a "1" came up on the display. I continued to keep rotating the two buttons and then a "2" came up on the display and the dishwater started it's "drain" phase. I then hit cancel to clear and then I selected the cycle I wanted. The washer started up just as normal at this point.

The "Rinse Only Button" will not function even after going through the "Cancel" cycle.

br, sounds like you have a stuck keypad. This would be the only reason it is switching to a different cycle. Catriver..post back.
