Check the exhaust pipe for a clog. Outside of the machine by the vent you should feel the rush of hot, moisture laden air coming out. When the hot exhaust does not leave the machine as intended and collects, raising the temperatures inordinately and causing it to overheat and shut down.

U might try bypassing the temp limiter sensors to see if unit continues to operate.

SOURCE: front load gas dryer lg model dlg 5988w does not heat

This can obviously be several things, but I would first check the small safety thermostat. On the gas models, there is a small pin sticking out of it which can be pushed back in to reset it. It is located on the heater housing and is only about the size of a dime, with two wires on it. This will trip out easily if your vent was not clean, or is long or restricted in some ways (like using flex ducting)
If you need more help getting to it, let me know and I'll give you more instructions.

SOURCE: Cleaned vents, dryer gets very hot, shuts off w/o drying clothes

Sounds like a faulty operating thermostat. Only way is to test on a electric griddle that you can set the temperature to 150 deg and measure with a ohm meter.

I'm getting an E65 code on my frigidaire affinity dryer. We've replaced the heating element and the fuse. It's still happening. It's been thoroughly cleaned out. What is my next step?

This indicates it is the High Limit Thermostat, which isn't a fuse. Most dryers have three heat related components. They usually trip because of bad airflow, check the hose at the back and the vent in the wall. This is the time that birds make nests in them! Also wash the lint filter with dish soap and a brush. Part No. 33 here
https://www.searspartsdirect.com/model/55b2zm5szl-001428/frigidaire-fase7073lw0-dryer-parts

The error code of E65 is a high limit thermostat trip . For Electric Model, check Inlet Thermal Limiter for continuity. If Thermal Limiter is open, check for evidence of high temperature event and any resulting damage. If no further damage is evident, replace Thermal Limiter.

My condenser dryer has a flashing light for "filter care" even after filters have been cleaned. it produces heat and turns, does anyone know why this would happen and what I could do to remedy it?

I expect it has 4" duct exhausting to outside? It's possibly restricted with lint, either at the louvered opening, or in the pipe itself. Spiral plastic vent is particularly restrictive and captures more lint than smooth sheet metal pipe. A restricted exhaust/limited air flow will likely trigger a filter message.

Dryer gets hot, outside vent seems to have plenty of air coming out. Lint screens all clean. But the unit takes two cycles to dry and in the past it always dried in one cycle. Whats wrong??

Is this happening on automatic dry cycle or timed drying?
It sounds like your moisture sensor is "confused" and shutting down heat prematurely. This part can be replaced.

Also double check your exhaust vent for blockages or standing water or sagging or open pipe

Also , your heater element may be shutting on or off prematurely. Could be a high limit thermostat problem. Or there is obstuction causing over heat

hope this helps

Kenmore elite model 11062952100 My dryer will not heat I replaced The thermal cutoff and high limit thermostat the dryer produce heat briefly but is not producing heat again.

There is a high limit switch (looks like a button with two wires hooked to it) on the bottom of the vent frame. When the vent fills up with lent at the bottom it gets hot. For safety, this limit switch will turn heat off. Remove the vent frame and clean it out and check the continuity of the switch. Also, make sure both heater elements are working properly.

Problem: The dryer runs fine but it won't heat up. I have checked and cleaned the vent line. This did not abate the problem. Question: is there something other than a bad heating element that would...

If the heating element is fine check the limits:

themobilian_2142.jpg
Your fuse is ok because the dryer runs. So one of the heater limits is probably blown.
The 2 above limits fit a standard WP dryer. Yours might take a diff part number depending on the model. If all limits are fine, yall could have a bad breaker, a bad temp control or a bad timer.

Dryer runs, but no heat, where is the sensor located?

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description "dryer runs, but no heat" I`d direct you to first check the hi-temp cut out at the back...if you haven`t already.

It will look like this...

7995fe6.jpg

If you push this to reset and the unit works, great. I would keep an eye on it though since the hi-limit typically trips for a reason such as a plugged lint filter, plugged vent ot partially plugged or the heater itself is plugged up with lint.

Take the lint filter and clean it under some warm water and soap as they do become plugged with wax over time due to fabric softener and static sheets.

If it doesn`t heat after-wards or it`s not tripped, you`ll need to investigate for a faulty heater element.

This is quite involved, so we`ll cross that bridge when you get there...if necessary.

Keep me posted on your progress or what you find.

Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

My dryer is not heating

Remove the exhaust vent tubing and thoroughly clean it. The best way is to take it apart piece by piece if it is made with sheet metal. If its the cheap accordian stretch tube throw it away and get the right tubing for it. Lint catches in the spiral folds and collects very rapidly causing to clog up. When it does the moister sensor detects the clog for the heat will not vent through the exhaust tubing. When that happens the sensor shuts down the heating process. If your vents are clean and clear the sensor is at fault so replacing that will be your task

Stopped heating

What I do is see if their could be an obvious reason for the dryer to quit heating. I determine how old the dryer is and ask if the heating element has been replaced and when, those sorts of questions then that give me an idea. I make it a point to clean and oil any dryer I work o. They all are going to have lint buildup in them and this lint is the main cause of heat failure. A small piece of lint gets on the heating element and causes a hot spot. The hot spot burns through interrupting the circuit93b855d.jpg
I unplug the machine and remove the rear cover. 1c9e8bc.jpg I 1. Hi Limit (small limit upper right hand side of this pic) the most frequent problem if dryer RUNS but no heat AND you have
checked the element and found it to be good. 2. Heater assembly. 7. Control thermostat(s). 5. Fuse(350F), if blown(open) the dryer will NOT run. 4. Heater element
(if you do not have a meter remove and inspect this heater coil for breaks). I remove the lint chute(that the thing the filter lives in) and I wash that out because it gets clogged over time. I check the heater and limits for continuity. Then I remove the front panel and drum. Completely vacuum out the dryer and oil the rollers. d4f393f.jpg
If this is a gas dryer you want to see if power is going to the gas assembly
If this fuseeda36f9.jpg is blown on a gas dryer the dryer will run but the heat will not, If the dryer heats a little but quits then these coils are getting hot and intermittent94fb1fe.jpgif your igniter is blown a54d451.jpgor your sensor is open5650218.jpgthere won't be no heat.
