Page 20 of the manual shows how to install the bobbin. If you have removed other parts, then you may need a technician.

Time to visit the local dealership. I wouldn't try to replace it myself. Too many things can go wrong. Find local dealerships on official website or inside the user's manual: Singer Simple 3116 manual Download Free Manuals

SOURCE: picking up bobbin thread

First easy thing to check, are you using the correct length needle.
If this is not the problem then somehow the needle bar has moved and the the needle depth is to high or the timing is wrong..
Unless you really know what you are doing then I am afraid a sewing machine tech needs to reset the needle depth and subsequently the timing.

How do I put bobbin in despite machine

The needle could be facing the wrong direction. The owners manual should show how to do this. On most machines, the flat part faces the back of the machine. But if the bobbin case is installed from the left side rather than from the front, the needle's flat side may face the right side of the machine. In the latter case, the thread is threaded from the left side through the needle's eye.

Be sure you are using a brand new needle. A bent/damaged needle may not pick up the bobbin thread.

If it still does not pick up the bobbin thread, the needle/hook timing may be off. There are multiple web sites and videos discussing sewing machine timing, or you can take it for service.

The machine was working fine until I changed the thread and bobbin. When I start to stitch, the bobbin thread and needle thread aren't looping together.

Install a brand new needle. Make sure it is installed facing the correct direction.

Remove all the thread from the machine. RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning confirming that no thread guides were missed in the process. Check to make sure the bobbin is loaded and threaded properly in the bobbin case.

My bobbin is not turning or picking up top thread

My guess that you've got the needle in backwards. Is the flat of the needle shank to the back of the machine? It should be.

Check the "needle system" of the packet you got your new needle from. It should say Singer 2020, 130/705H, 130R or HAx1 -- if it says something else like JLx1 or DBx1, let me know... you may have the wrong needle for your machine.

As far as the hook, it kind of depends on what the bobbin system of the machine is. The very best thing to do would be to put the parts in a baggie and take it and the rest of the machine back to the dealer you got it from and have them help you put it back together. It's probably not broken, but this is something you will need to learn to do for yourself as you're learning to use and care for the machine. If I know what model you have and the type of bobbin case, I can probably help you a bit more.

The usual causes for machines that won't pick up the bobbin thread are:
-- damaged or bent needle
-- needle in backwards
-- wrong needle system for the machine (make sure it says "sewing machine needle" not "serger" or "overlock)
-- needle too small a size for the thickness of fabric being sewn
-- dirty machine
-- misthreaded machine
-- out of time machine (rare: usually preceded by loud noises, broken needles and bad words) Here is a link to some common issues. PictureTrail Online Photo Sharing Social Network Image Hosting Online...

Pfaff sewing machine 1469. Does not pick up bobbin thread. Large loops of top thread on bottom of material.

make sure you have it threaded correctly, and also check and make sure you have the needle in correctly. The flat part of the needle goes towards the back.(away from you). Also double check that the bobbin is in the proper way and is going thru the tensions it needs to go thru.
pull your threads to the back of fabric, hold together & hold until you've stictched an inch or so.
The thread from the bobbin should start to creep up towards the feed dogs and make a loop that the needle and thread can "grab" to pull it up thru the hole for stitching. You might want to slowly put the needle down thru the feed dogs and then slowly with the winder not the pedal but with the winder slowly bring the needle up again. Try this a few times and see if the needle and bring it up. try it couple of times to get it right.
This will help. Thanks please keep updated. please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya.

Needle won't pick up bobbin thread - HELP!!!

I recently fixed my wife maching with the same problem. I found that the screw had come loose that holds the linkage together that rotates the bobbin holder. I was fortunate enough to notice the screw while looking at the machine. To replace it requires taking both the front and back covers off of the frame since the bobbin holder linkage is in the rear behind the needle area. Be careful to insure that the plastic toothed "rail" that runs the bobbin holder is positioned properly or it may break off a tooth. Once I replaced the screw and put the machine back together, it picked up the thread with no problem. Hope this helps.
