How can I get it working?

A friend gave me this TV knowing it had issues. As a single mother with not much cash to spare, I jumped on the chance. Figured I may be able to fix it for a few bucks, and worth trying because it simply is not a luxury we can afford otherwise. TV had no remote and no power cord. Took a power cord that fit into the slot from a computer charger I have and programed my universal remote to work with it. From the start it powered up right away but no audio or video. After about 5 minutes of trying to get something from the TV, I still got nothing. The next 5 minutes I just started pushing random buttons on the remote and... BAM... let there be sound... and there was sound... Now I still cannot get the audio to come up. I know it could be the bulb or any number of inner workings cracked, blown, or busted, BUT I just have a feeling that it is somehow locked because it seems like the audio was at first. Maybe a reset button or maybe the contrast or color is just turned all the way down... PLEASE EXPERT... PLEASE HELP ME FIX THIS MOST AWESOME TV FOR MY KIDS... THEY WILL FLIP TO SEE A TV LIKE THAT IN OUR HOME!!!! THANK YOU!! :-

Based on your description it appears there may be something wrong with the buffer board. The repair business these days is a lost art and now all they do is identify the offending board and simply replace it entirely. There is no cheapo, cheapo fix to your issue.

Do you know anyone who had a baby at 42? My mother unintentionally got pregnant and she's almost 43?

If you watch TV there are numerous stars who have had children at that age or even older. One of my dearest friends had a child. He was 28(this was his first) and she was 44(this was her third). Everything was great. No problems, but they(the Dr.s) did keep a closer eye on her pregnancy. She gave birth to a 8lb. 5oz. baby girl.I wish you all the best.

1988 pontiac grand am won't start

This sounds like an alternator problem and most likely a defective battery, have them tested by Kragen auto it's free.
