Just installed a new door latch. Does the washer have to be reset? The sensing light is blinking but it won't do anything else.

SOURCE: washer locked. door lock light blinking. start

IT IS POSSIBLE YOU HAVE A DEFECTIVE DOOR LOCK OR CONTROL BOARD. CHECK YOU OWNERS MANUAL TOO SEE IF YOUR WASHER HAS A MANUAL RELEASE SO YOU CAN OPEN YOUR DOOR. USUALLY YOU CAN ACCESS A MANUAL RELEASE BY REMOVING THE FRONT BOTTOM PANEL AND REACHING UP UNDER THE DOOR LOCK AND FINDING A PLASTIC PULL PIECE WHICH YOU CALL PULL AND UNLOCK THE DOOR. MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG THE WASHER FIRST. CHECK THE DOOR LOCK MECHANISMS TO SEE IF ANYTHING IS BROKEN AFTER YOU GET THE DOOR OPEN.

My electrolux front loading washer won't go past sensing mode. What is wrong? What do I do?

Thank you for your inquiry, Sarah!

I see that your Electrolux washer will not go past sensing mode. This sounds like a possible issue with your sensor or door latch and I would recommend performing a reset on your washer to help clear out any miscommunications. You can reset your washer by disconnecting the power cord for roughly ten minutes.

I would check your door latch and door strike for any physical damage that could halt the progress of your washer. If you continue to have issues with your washer I would suggest having a professional out to perform a proper diagnosis and repair. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

I have a Whirlpool Cbrio top load washer. it won't start it's cycle. Once it senses the load, the lock lid light flashes and it does nothing. can this be fixed?

I would say that the lock has failed. Either the lock itself or maybe the pin or latch that fits into it when you close the door may have cracked / broken. If the machine thinks the door / lid is still open, it wont let you start it.

How do I get the clean light to stop flashing

Ah, the famous (or infamous) Clean-light blinking problem. Watch that blinking light.... Does it blink 7 times, pauses, and repeats? Or does it blink 3 times (or some other number). The most common problem is 7 blinks wich means "water not heating error". This could be caused by a bad heating element, a bad thermal cutoff, a bad controller; but the most common problem is that 1 of the 2 switches inside the door latch is not getting engaged fully. This may be caused by something getting spilled (like a soda) into the door latch that is making it stick, or the door strike may be weak and not pressing down on the door latch hard enough. You can remove that door strike, bend it down more, and then re-install it. Good luck!

Blinking cancel light, had broken element replaced and still won't work and blinking cancel light still flashing

You probably have to replace the latch and strike, as well as a switch that is on the latch assembly. It may only be the switch, but when you have it taken apart it makes sense to replace all three parts. Parts should be available on Amazon.

The most common problem is 7 blinks which means "water not heating error". This could be caused by a bad heating element, a bad thermal cutoff or thermostat, a bad controller, or a problem with the door latch and/or switches. This may be caused by something getting spilled (like a soda) into the door latch that is making it stick, or the door strike may be weak and not pressing down on the door latch hard enough. If it's the latch, you would need to take the door apart and remove the latch mechanism (unplug the dishwasher first!), remove the switches, and clean the plastic parts with water, dry it, and then re-assemble. The other thing to check is the door strike, which is supposed to push down the latch. The springiness of this metal part may be weak. You can remove that door strike, bend it down more, and then re-install it. Then you need to reset the controller by running a diagnostic cycle, using the key sequence your repaiman showed you.

DU943PWKSO DISHWASHER STOPPED WORKING, ELECTRICAL CURRENT TO PANEL...THE LOCK LIGHT COMES ON WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED AND LATCHED, BUT THE WASHER WON'T START WHEN ANY OF THE BUTTONS ARE PUSHED...THE LOCKED...

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. This issue can be either due to a faulty door latch or door lock switch which is not engaging itself. And, if the door latch will not engage the dishwasher will sense it as open door and will not start the cycle. And the sound might be coming from the door lock solenoid (a hum/buzz sound).

The light also blinks when the dishwasher detects a no-fill condition. You’ll need to get access to the fill valve by removing left panel, look at back to see where valve is when you get to it remove one of the wires and set meter to ohms setting and put a lead on each tag on valve. The reading you should be about 3.6k ohm if you don’t get a reading then the valve is at fault. I'll also suggest you to check the detergent dispenser solenoid for this issue. Remove the door panel and see if there is a round item at the dispenser assembly with two wires attached to it. Put the dishwasher into a cycle and when the noise appears, gently press on the solenoid to see if that is where the noise is coming from.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
