You may already know that Tecumseh ceased business about 2008. It seems Barrett Small Engine has some of the literature on Tecumseh engines & parts. Try this link: http://www.barrettsmallengine.com/tecumseh/parts.html

Hope this helps,

there are pages of manuals for the engine
the first site up is tecumsa service manual --small engine parts
www.barrettsmallengine.com and it is a pdf downloadable manual which identifies all the carbies used
there is a heap of other pages pdf versions so between the lot you should get a good workshop manual

You can find a free diagram at www.sepw.com, use the part number of the carburetor as a model number under tecumseh brand lookup. Your carb part number is 640065a.

Tecumseh back fires but does not run

Have you checked to make sure the flywheel key is not sheared? If sheared it throws off the timing and will backfire when you try and start it. Somewhat common on those engines. If you have the engine model number I could look up a parts diagram to better answer the carb question.

Have a Troy-Bilt Chipper/Vac model # 47282 5hp sp, the Carburator needs to be replaced, I cannot find a part # for it, or where one can be purchased, please help

I believe the carburetor part number for your model is 632631. I have the same TroyBilt chipper/Vac. It has a Tecumseh H50-65582W engine. A good parts diagram can be found at
http://www.outdoordistributors.com/pdf/Tecumseh/TECUMSEH-MODEL-H50-65582W-PARTS-LIST.pdf
If this is the right part, you can buy it at Jacks Small Engine parts for $79
Good Luck!

Looking for a carburetor for a yard machines mtd

You may have better luck in identifying the engine type and manufacture (Briggs & Stratton, Tecumseh, etc) and get the number of the engine vs the machine itself, if possible. If you are able to do this, you can search ebay or the net for a wider range of possibilities for a purchase.

I need to know how to adjust the carbureator on an tecumseh lawn mower model number 143.954500

If it has a float type carb, open it 1.5 turns. If it has a diaphram open it one turn. If it has a Walbro carb, there is no adjustment. Once you get the engine started you may adjust the carb to fine tune. Open until it begins to lose RPM's then close until it starts to lose RPM's. Return to a point between the two. Good luck...Lee

Raw fule is shooting out the left side of the carburator

The float needle in the carb isn't shutting off the fuel and it's pouring out the vent. This is a common problem. You should tear the carb down and replace the needle and seat. You should check the float to make sure it doesn't have fuel in it (if you shake it and hear fluid inside it, it's shot and you'll need a new one.) Parts for Tecumseh engines are readily available from most decent lawn mower shops. Be sure to take you model numbers from the engine to the dealer to get the right parts.
