Setting up guest wifi

Go through the steps just like you did to set up your router initially. The prompt along the on screen set up will ask you what type of setting and access you would like for this. It doesn't have to be "guest". You can name it anything you like and limit access on that as well as password protected so only your guests can use it and not your neighbors.

Want to get my Cisco guest password

Open Cisco Connect then click Guest access. The password is displayed under the Password header.

To go to the Guest access option using Cisco Connect, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Select Guest access at the main screen of Cisco Connect

In the Guests access settings window, you can enable or disable the Allow guest access, change and check the password for the guest network, or change the number of Total guests allowed.

NOTE: The Guest network name is the main network's SSID with -guest as a suffix. If you want to change the guest network's name, you will need to change the main network's SSID.

How do Setup a password for my router already have one password need to set a password for guest

You need to use your browser to log in to your router. Locate the guest account in the menu and set a new password. If you'd like, many routers allow you to disable guest accounts entirely. If you need specific step-by-step instructions, I need to know what brand and model router you are using, what OS your computer has, and what browser you use for accessing the internet.

The Box claims there is a Guest Access. I find no reference or settings within the Router Set up for this activity. How do I set up Guest Access?

Hi Norman,
For guest access:
You can allow guests to use your Internet connection without joining your personal network.
.
The network name and password for the guest network is located on the network information card found under the foot of your Router
.
A person using your guest network will be able to join without a password, but will be shown a login page when they attempt to surf the Web..
They will need to enter the guest password into this page to continue.
Hope this helps!
Please Rate if it did!
Thanks,
Gary

Want to put lock on guest

Linksys E series routers can broadcast 2 wireless networks. First one is the main wireless network which is secured wireless network.
The second network is a guest network which will always show you unsecured.
It will never show you secured and you can not make it secured.
However it has a web based security.
Anyone can connect to the guest network but will not be able to access Internet without Guest access password.
In other words there is a security.
You can disable guest access also.
