The display went out on my lucent phone

If the extension still works then the LCD display has gone out. Replace the phone. If the extension doesn't work then move the extension wiring to a different port on the system. This will tell you if the port has gone bad.

When i transfer to another extension, the call is automatic in speaker phone, why?

The handset has been programmed to auto answer all or some calls. You will need to change it to normal answer mode via EXTN 20/21 whichever is your programming extension. To tell which one is your default extension it is usually the extension that will still work as a normal telephone in the event of a mains power failure.

Of course not. That's what the USER manual is for It's filled with step by step instructions for programming your phone. Some of the programs are set up at installation, some are user programs.

How to change phone extentsions

You are basically setting up what extension teh phone is to use. Now you need to tell teh extension what user is going to use it.
If the phone says, no user, then there should be a login button. If there is not, contact the admin person so they can program one.

Not in service

Whoops, the second part of that is press FEATURE *0 and the intercom button before you move it and see what extension it is.
Do the same thing after you move it. It will tell you what extension it is and if it stayed the same.

The system CoOrdinator or installer can turn off that Auto Set Relocation feature :-)
